What a day! 🎉✂️

Today, we officially cut the ribbon and opened the doors to Lake Technical College South!

What started as a dream is now a reality, creating new opportunities for students throughout South Lake County and expanding access to the high-quality workforce training Lake Tech has provided for 60 years.

Thank you to our state and local leaders, community partners, faculty, staff, and everyone who helped make this day possible. We can’t wait to see the lives that will be changed within these walls!

Today we were honored to welcome Florida Department of Education Senior Chancellor Dr. Kevin O’Farrell to Lake Technical College’s Main Campus.

His visit provided an opportunity to showcase the incredible work taking place across our manufacturing, healthcare, and public safety programs while highlighting the hands-on, career-focused training that prepares our students for in-demand careers.

Dr. O’Farrell also toured our integrated HVAC program and had the chance to see, firsthand, the award-winning welding sculpture that earned Technical Excellence honors at this year’s statewide welding competition.

Thank you, Dr. O’Farrell, for taking the time to visit Lake Tech and for your continued support of workforce education across Florida.

Monday marked the first official day back for our incredible Lake Technical College faculty and staff, and we celebrated in true Lake Tech fashion as we kicked off our 60th Anniversary Year!

The morning started with a delicious breakfast and our popular Diamond Coffee Bar, followed by recognizing our amazing team during our Years of Service Awards. We sprinkled in a little summer trivia before turning up the fun with our faculty edition of Battle Royale!

From incognito discos and epic stare-downs to chicken challenges and plenty of laughter, the day was filled with teamwork, friendly competition, and unforgettable moments.

As much fun as we had, what excites us most is what’s ahead. We can’t wait to welcome our students back and begin another year of transforming lives, strengthening our community, and building futures—one career at a time.

Exciting news for Lake County!

As Lake Technical College celebrates 60 years of workforce education, we’re proud to announce a $3.7 million state appropriation that will fund continued development of the Lake Tech South Campus in Clermont.

This investment will expand access to high-quality career and technical education, helping prepare the skilled workforce our growing community and local businesses need for the future.

A heartfelt thank you to Governor Ron DeSantis, Senator Keith Truenow for State Senate, District 13, and Taylor Yarkosky for Florida State Representative - District 25 for their support and commitment to workforce education and economic development in our region.
