In Kenya, Rafiki recently had the opportunity to provide Bible study and Sunday school training for a PCEA (Presbyterian Church of East Africa) church.

The participants showed a strong desire to faithfully teach the children entrusted to their care while growing in their own knowledge and understanding of God’s Word. What an encouragement to see a hunger to learn, grow, and faithfully serve the next generation!

We are grateful for opportunities to come alongside churches and equip teachers as they seek to teach the Bible. Join us in praising God for each opportunity to see his Word spread throughout Africa!

In the desert of Turkana County, Kenya, a new chapter in education is unfolding.

In this dry, remote region, many families traditionally followed a nomadic way of life. Years of drought pushed many to settle near towns, and as communities changed, so did their hopes for their children. More families now recognize the value of education and are choosing to send their children to school.

At a school in Kakwanyang, about 200 children from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 1 are learning with the Rafiki Classical Christian Curriculum and Bible study. Their teachers eagerly bring the lessons to life with games, worksheets, read-alouds, and engaging activities.

For these young students, learning comes with unique challenges. English is their third language, and many rely on the school for their only substantial meal of the day. The school’s borehole also provides water for both the students and families in the surrounding community.

Yet these challenges have not dampened the teachers’ enthusiasm. They recently completed a week of training and continue to grow in their ability to teach these children well.

Rafiki rejoices to see communities embrace education and teachers faithfully lay a foundation of learning and God’s Word for the next generation.

What a wonderful way to close out another school year at Rafiki Village Ghana! Two weeks ago, the school held its end-of-term recitation, allowing parents to see their children present some of what they learned throughout the term. This year’s celebration included presentations by grades 5, 6, and 8.

The end-of-term recitation also included awards and Bible presentations, making it a special time of celebrating the students’ accomplishments. Rafiki Missionary Mollie had the joy of presenting Bibles to the students as they were recognized for their hard work throughout the year.

There is no better group to celebrate with than Ghanaian parents and teachers. What a blessing to see their investment in the students and to give thanks for all that God has done!
