October is Fire Safety Month, and the Rhinos took the time to draw a picture about fire safety during their journaling time today.

This month is a great time to get your family's fire safety plan in order! Make sure your kiddos are familiar with the smoke alarm's sound, map out the escape route, and pinpoint your family's secret hideout.
It's never too early to become a fire safety superhero! 🔥👩‍🚒

Our very first Kids Cafe of the school year is in the books! 👩‍🍳
We are traveling all around the world in our Kids Cafe sessions, and today we went to Mexico to try some of its popular foods. We first talked about what kinds of foods we can find in Mexico, and what Mexican foods we have tried ourselves. We then discussed the importance of washing our hands before handling and preparing food. All the students washed their hands, and then we prepared to make our homemade salsa, guacamole, and cheese quesadillas! Everyone took turns dicing and mixing all the ingredients, as well as buttering and adding cheese to tortillas to make our quesadillas. The quesadillas were then cooked so they were all warm and toasty!
After everything was done, the student got to taste what they made! They did such a great job and had so much fun! 🥑 🧀 🍅

Let's learn about music! 🎼
Our Crocodiles class got some hands-on learning with instruments and the sounds they make.
The first lesson was about fast and slow tempos. They were played a tempo and had to try to guess whether it was fast or slow. The students had the opportunity to then play their own tempos.
Next, they were challenged to play their instruments loudly and quietly, and they even picked a song to sing and play the instruments to!
Teaching music to students is important because it boosts cognitive development, improves academic performance, and builds social-emotional skills! 🎹🪇🥁🪘

This morning we were pedaling for a cause! 🚴
Our annual Trike-a-Thon was a great success once again! 🚲 🛴
All of our students were able to take a ride on their buggies, trikes, bikes and scooters all around “Trike Town”- our very own community built by our wonderful classrooms!
This event helps raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and we want to thank all of our families who helped us make a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families. ❤️

Our Kickstart soccer program started this week with a demo day this morning. Our little all-stars had the chance to practice the very basics of the game, including short kicks, control, and stopping.
It was the perfect day to get a little taste of the fun season ahead! Go soccer! ⚽️

We are gearing up for our annual "Trike-a-Thon" coming up this Thursday! 🚴 Our kiddos are going to pedal for a cause to help raise funds for the children and their families at St. Jude Research Hospital. ❤️
In preparation, classes are learning about the importance of bike safety this week through our very special St. Jude's coloring books! We are so excited to bike through "Trike Town" and help lend a hand to those in need. 🚴‍♀️🫶

We had some very GRAND visitors come visit us this morning! 🫶
Grandfriend's Day is one of our favorite days of the year. It is extra special to see how excited our students are to have some of their favorite people walk through the door and spend time with them, whether it's by making crafts, 🎨playing games, 🎲 eating refreshments, 🍩 reading books, 📖 or enjoying a walk down our hall to check out our Book Fair. 😊
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. We loved having you and look forward to seeing you again next year! 💞

It's beginning to look a lot like... FALL! 🍂🍁
Our Snake friends took advantage of the crisp and crunchy leaves that have fallen onto the ground.
This was not only a fun outdoor activity to get some fresh air and some wiggles out, but it also taught an important lesson about the changing seasons! 🍂🌳❄️🌹
