Update: Previewing the 2026 USRRC in St. Louis Oct. 9–11

August is upon us, and we’re hard at work polishing the three rallies for this year’s United States Road Rally Challenge® (USRRC), organized and hosted, of course, by the St. Louis Region. The three rallies: the South by Southeast National Course Rally Oct. 9, the Great River Road National Touring Rally Oct. 10, and the Route 66 Ramble National Touring Rally Oct. 11.

The USRRC is SCCA road-rallying’s annual triple-national weekend, similar to—but not quite like—the Runoffs® or the Solo® Nationals.

Actually, to be correct, we’re organizing five rallies Oct. 9–11, because we’re adapting the routes of Great River Road Tour and the Route 66 Ramble and offering them for regional competitors as part of our Region’s every-now-and-again Gateway Challenge Cup, which is a strictly SOP (seat of the pants) event aimed at the beginning or occasional rally team. For our Gateway Challenge Cup rallies, only minimal timekeeping is required and no fancy navigating equipment is allowed. Motor along at the assigned average speeds, have your navigator keep you on the rally route, and enjoy the day. That’s it.

So, what to expect from the USRRC weekend regardless of the rally, or rallies, you’ve chosen to run—good organization, great roads, great hospitality, and fun driving. That’s our goal.

And yes, we hope to see you in October.

SCCA RoadRally: 2026 USRRC Preview #1

Somewhere in southern Illinois, not far from the Kaskaskia River, the lunch location for the USRRC’s South by Southeast National Course Rally Oct. 9.

Concurrent with “the Challenge,” the Region also will offer its Gateway Cup Regional Challenge for new or occasional road-rally teams seeking to explore classic daylong road-rally adventures. Again, visit the link above.

This is the fifth time in the USRRC’s 31-year history that the St. Louis Region will host the United States Road Rally Challenge, which this year also includes the Great River Road National Touring Rally Oct. 10 and the Route 66 Ramble National Touring Rally Oct. 11.

Event 3 of the 2026 Solo Performance Specialties Solo Series with PAX, Ladies and Novice Champions presented by whitmansvault.com is this Sunday June 7th. This will be our charity event. Do not suffer the dreaded FOMO! Get registered today.

Proceeds from this weekend's event will benefit the Childrens Organ Transplant Association. There will be a huge selection of raffle items and lunch will be available for a donation of $9 and a cold beverage for $1. The fine folks at Bellacino's are providing your choice of either a six inch turkey or chicken sandwich with a bag of chips. There will be a break between heats 1 and 2.

As well as during the break, we will announce the raffle winners. Emily Meuth has gathered a strong pile of items. Don't be shy, get in their and buy some tickets for your shot at glory.

The next two months will give the Solo community two great events to participate in. We encourage you to register and be a part of the fun.

On June 7th will be E3 of the 2026
Solo Performance Specialties Solo Series with PAX, Ladies and Novice Champions presented by whitmansvault.com. This will be our annual charity event to benefit Childrens Organ Transplant Association. There will be lunch available for a small donation, raffle prizes and more. If you want to help, give Emily Meuth a shout. She's the boss on this one.

Next up, we are pleased to host the fourth consecutive Tire Rack SCCA Shootout, formerly the CAM Challenge, the weekend of July 10-12. This event is open to all classes. There will be participants from numerous states and some heavy hitters in attendance. If you want to test yourself against national drivers and sleep in your own bed, this is that opportunity.

There will be a TnT on Friday. Afterwards, find your way to Emily Meuth and Jacob Meuth house for the traditional Friday bbq social extravaganza. Saturday you get six runs and dinner in the Family Arena lobby with the a/c on full blast. Sunday, you get three more runs and a chance to make the Shootout rounds.

Road-Rally Reminder—Register Now for Tulips by Night May 30

We’re just 10 days away from the SCCA St. Louis Region’s 2026 edition of Tulips by Night; so today is a perfect day to register for this Saturday evening, May 30, event.

Interested? Here’s the basic information:

Registration: Online only at https://msreg.com/STLTulips2026. Registration closes Wednesday, May 27, at 11:59 p.m.

Start: Troy, Ill., Park & Ride, 809 S. Main Street, Troy, IL 62294.

Finish: Vitale’s Hideaway, Worden, Ill., at Interstate 55 and Illinois 4/Historic Route 66. Vitale’s continues the tradition of a roadhouse at this location since the inception of Route 66 in 1926.

Entry Fee: $20.00 for SCCA teams; $45 for non-SCCA teams (includes a $25 Weekend Membership for the team’s “primary entrant”—the person who pays the entry fee—plus a free Trial Membership for the rally partner).

On-site check-in May 30: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Safety Meeting: 6:45 p.m.

First car departs the start: 7:01 p.m.

First car arrives at the finish: approx. 9:00 p.m.

Field: Limited to 25 teams.

What you need: a car, a driver and navigator, a smartphone or tablet for the Richta GPS Checkpoints rally app (free at Google Play or Apple’s App Store), a clipboard and calculator, pencils and paper, and a happy inclination to take a fun, full-moon (Blue Moon, no less) Saturday-evening drive with a little adventure and some friendly competition included.

This event will be our charity event to benefit the Childrens Organ Transplant Association. Emily Meuth is spearheading the effort in obtaining raffle donations, possible simple lunch and more. Eric Whitman of Whitman's Vault fame will be providing a bundle for the raffle as well. SPS will have some goodies to be raffled off too.
