Stellamara Acoustic Roots Trio reunites the core members of Stellamara, an internationally acclaimed ensemble known for its evocative blend of Eastern European and Near Eastern modal music. With over two decades of international performances and celebrated recordings, the group has cultivated a distinctive and timeless sound.
At its center are producer, singer, and percussionist Sonja Drakulich, multi-instrumentalist Gari Hegedus, and cellist Rufus Cappadocia.
In this intimate acoustic format, the trio offers the essence of Stellamara: a modern and deeply expressive approach to traditional modal repertoire, ancestral folk songs of love and loss, and original compositions shaped by lifelong study of modal and polyphonic traditions.

On Saturday, August 15, traditional singing workshop, 2-4pm
Voice of the Soul with Sonja Drakulich
Suggested $20-$40 sliding scale.
In this workshop, we will explore the most effective practices I have found throughout the world to open ourselves as clear vessels for sound, unveiling the full resonance of your unique voice.
You’ll learn techniques for “unlocking” the voice through exploring the sonic instrument of the body and cultivating alignment that supports singing, chanting, invocation, and unhindered speech. We’ll explore the possibilities of vocal freedom through deep connection and discovery of our instrument as a channel for the voice.
From there, we’ll learn an animistic folk song from Eastern Europe which in itself reconnects us into communion with nature, spirit, and to each other through the living power of song.
