Ready for the new year! Our LSU Eunice campus community assembled this morning for our Fall Semester Convocation to kick off the upcoming semester. In addition to laying the groundwork for the work ahead, we celebrated our recent Professor Tenure promotions and Service Awards. It was our pleasure to welcome back to the Cajun Prairie, LSU System President Dr. Wade Rousse, to help open the new year!

We were honored to begin the new academic year with the Eunice Community Concert Band & Choir as part of our Convocation today. The concert band helped us honor America's 250th anniversary with a few patriotic songs including the Armed Forces Medley. Thanks to the band for entertaining our staff and faculty, and thanks always to all who have served our country!

Our LSU Eunice Student Government had the honor of hosting LSU Student Body President Ben Barousse on campus today. In addition to a discussion of ways for both student governments to cross-collaborate, Ben was named an LSUE Honorary Senator by LSUE SGA President Cameron Slate.

On Thursday, we celebrated our Diagnostic Medical Sonography graduates with their pinning ceremony. This amazing group have all found jobs before graduating and will be another group of tremendous Allied Health workforce produced here at LSUE!

We had the honor of celebrating some of our summer graduates this week, beginning with Wednesday's pinning ceremony for our Surgical Technology graduates. Congratulations on this significant achievement and know you'll always have a home here at LSU Eunice!
