📢 EUNICE PUBLIC SCHOOLS – FRIDAY REMINDER 📢

As we adjust to our new 4-day school week, we want to remind our families that there is NO SCHOOL on Fridays, with the exception of 4 instructional Fridays throughout the school year.

📅 Please refer to the Eunice Public Schools District Calendar for those designated instructional Fridays and other important school dates.

🍎 Friday Meal Service
Meals will be available for student pick up on Friday mornings from 9:00–9:30 AM in the bus loop.

We appreciate our families as we settle into our new school schedule. ❤️

Have a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable weekend! We look forward to seeing our students back on Monday, rested and ready for another great week! 📚✨

For any information regarding the Youth Center shuttle bus services or issues that occure while your student(s) is at the Youth Center please contact them directly. Eunice Public Schools have no ties with the Youth Center they operate under their own entity . You can refer to their flyer below for all additional information.

As we work through Week 1, we ask for your continued patience, grace, and respect during dismissal. The beginning of a new school year is an adjustment for everyone—students, staff, and families—and it takes a little time to get everyone into a smooth routine.

Our number one priority is making sure every student gets where they need to go safely. As students and staff become more familiar with dismissal procedures, the process will become quicker and more efficient each day.

Please be patient with our staff and with one another. We are all working toward the same goal: getting our Cardinals home safely! ❤️🤍🖤

We are so excited to welcome our Cardinals back tomorrow! 📚✏️ Please take a moment to review these important first-day reminders:

📸 First Day Photo Opportunity
We will have a fun photo prop set up in the main foyer for those first-day-of-school pictures! Thank you Esmer Carraza for your help!

🚪 Doors Open at 7:35 AM
Parents/guardians will not be permitted down the hallways to classrooms. We will have staff available to help students get where they need to go.

🍎 Where Students Will Go:
• 3rd–5th Grade: Cafeteria
• Kindergarten–2nd Grade: Straight to their homeroom classrooms

⏰ Doors Close at 7:50 AM
Students arriving after 7:50 AM must be checked in by a parent or guardian through the front office.

Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year at MJE!

Dear MJE Families,

As we prepare to begin a brand-new school year, I wanted to take a moment to reach out and let you know just how excited we are to welcome our students back to Mettie Jordan Elementary! Our staff cannot wait to meet, love, encourage, and educate your child this year. We know that sending your child to school each day is an act of trust, and we do not take that responsibility lightly.

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, there are a few changes that are important for our families to know.

📅 Four-Day School Week
This year we will transition to a four-day school week. Please keep the district calendar handy and refer to it often. There will be holidays as well as designated instructional Fridays throughout the year when students WILL attend school.

⏰ New School Hours: 7:50 AM–3:50 PM
With the four-day week comes a longer school day. Our breakfast and lunch schedules have been adjusted to help keep our students fueled and ready to learn throughout the day. Students will also have an opportunity for a snack during the school day because we know hungry tummies make it difficult to have minds ready for learning!

With our longer days, we also ask that parents and guardians make every effort to arrive on time for afternoon pickup. Our teachers and staff will have already had a long day, and we want to be respectful of everyone’s time.

📱 Parent & Teacher Communication
We are also simplifying the way we communicate with families. There will no longer be individual grade-level pages. The official Mettie Jordan Elementary page will be our primary page for schoolwide announcements, reminders, celebrations, and important information.

Teachers will communicate directly with parents primarily through email and ParentSquare. Classrooms that utilize ClassDojo may continue to use that platform as well. Please make sure your contact information is current so you don’t miss important information from your child’s teacher or the school.

Most importantly, please know that we are here for your children. We want MJE to be a place where every child feels safe, loved, valued, and excited to learn. We also believe that strong, positive relationships between our school and our families are essential to our students’ success.

We are ready for an AMAZING year of learning, growing, laughing, and making memories together!
