Dear CMS Families,

As many of you are now aware, the St. Landry Parish School Board has approved a plan that will result in the closure of Central Middle School. Beginning in August 2026, all 5th and 6th grade students who would have attended Central Middle will instead attend Glendale Elementary.

We understand that this news brings many emotions and questions for our students, families, faculty, and staff. Central Middle has been more than just a school—it has been a place where relationships were built, memories were made, and students were challenged to grow academically and personally. We are grateful for the opportunity to have served this incredible community.

Our priority during this transition is ensuring that every student experiences a smooth, positive, and successful start to the new school year. We will continue working closely with district leadership and Glendale Elementary to share important information as it becomes available.

Thank you for your continued support, trust, and partnership. It has been an honor to serve the students and families of Central Middle School. While this chapter is coming to a close, our commitment to the success of every child remains unchanged.
