Two Dallas-area high school wrestling programs paid tribute on the 25th anniversary of 9/11. 🇺🇸

At Euless Trinity, wrestlers joined Euless Police, Euless Fire and Hurst Police for a memorial workout honoring the victims, distances and rep counts tied to casualty numbers from the North Tower, South Tower, Pentagon, Flight 93 and the firefighters and law enforcement officers lost that day.

Meanwhile, Grapevine wrestlers took part in the 7th Annual 9/11 Tribute Stair Climb, joining first responders and community members to replicate the 110 flights of the Twin Towers, honoring the 412 emergency responders who gave their lives.

She left Euless Trinity as a state champ and a 112-match winner, now she's a Fort Hays State Tiger.

Maliana Heimuli, one of the top 235-pounders in Texas the past two seasons, is settling into life in Hays, Kansas as one of seven true freshmen for the Tigers this year. She finished ranked No. 10 nationally at 235 and posted a 91-8 record over her final two seasons at Trinity, picking up All-American honors at Folkstyle Nationals twice along the way.

"I think this would be like a good opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone," she said. "You have to do hard things to grow and build character."

She'll get her first look in the Black-and-Gold Scrimmage on Oct. 23 before the Tigers open the season Nov. 1 at the Luther Hill Open in Indianola, Iowa. Circle Jan. 17 too, that's when Fort Hays State heads to Iowa City to take on the Hawkeyes.
