Alḥamdulillāh, by the Grace of Allah (SWT), we are blessed to be able to pray Taraweeh in our masjid. We have been granted temporary permission to keep the masjid open until March 27, 2026.

However, a Certificate of Occupancy for permanent operation will only be issued once the following City-mandated updates are completed:

Enhance structural columns – Estimated cost: $20,000

Construct a fire wall partition around the prayer space; enlarge entrance and exit doors; replace all exit doors with two-hour fire-rated doors – Estimated cost: $45,000

Upgrade the multipurpose hall with fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems; complete finish-out work – Estimated cost: $85,000

Expand the musallah by adding 75 prayer spaces with new carpet, drywall, and paint – Estimated cost: $65,000

Expand parking area – Estimated cost: $50,000

Install fencing to prevent car headlights from impacting neighboring residences – Estimated cost: $15,000

Construct retaining wall and stormwater drainage improvements – Estimated cost: $15,000

Total Estimated Cost: $295,000

Join us for taraweeh prayers and listen to beautiful recitation of the Qur’an from our huffadh this Ramadan. Each night we will have reflections and tafsir with Ustadh Ammar Taufiq, a Hafidh and recent graduate from Michigan Islamic Institute.

Many of us have heard about the news surrounding Wisam Sharieff from messages and actions taken by Al Maghrib Institute.

Based on our review, this is in violation of every basic ethical and moral code of conduct. Wisam Sharieff will thereby not lead any congregational prayers or be a part of any program at HEB Islamic Center.

It is important to note that Wisam Sharieff had led Khutbahs at HEB Islamic Center *but was not employed by HEB Islamic Center at any time*.

We are truly horrified and jarred by the criminal allegations that were conducted outside HEB. Please reach out to us for any support or resources we may be able to provide as the well-being of our community is of utmost importance.

We ask Allah swt to grant healing to the victim and those affected, to grant us protection, and to give strength to the community and to the ummah.
