A huge thank you to the HEB Education Foundation for their generous grant supporting Trinity High School Science! Because of this funding, our students will have access to new electronic balances that will enhance hands-on labs and strengthen real-world skills. We are grateful for your continued investment in education and for helping provide our students with the tools they need to succeed.

The Science Department is back at it! šŸ‘©šŸ»ā€šŸ”¬šŸ”¬Our Environmental Systems students turned science into action as they used their knowledge of porosity and permeability to design and build water filters from limited supplies. With creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking, they took on the challenge of creating the best filter possible. Real-world problem solving in action!

Today our Anatomy & Physiology students didn’t just learn about the male reproductive system … they EXPERIENCED it. After breaking it down in lecture, students stepped into the lab to dissect a bull testicle and see the structures up close. This is what it’s all about ... turning notes into real-world understanding. Curiosity was high, questions were flying, and students were fully locked in from start to finish. Not every classroom looks like this and that’s what makes science so special.

In Anatomy & Physiology, we have been learning about one of the most incredible systems in the human body ... the cardiovascular system. From the powerful structure of the heart to the intricate network of blood vessels that keep every cell alive, students are learning how this system works together to deliver oxygen, remove waste, and sustain life. ā¤ļø

But we don’t stop at just understanding how the heart functions ... we talk about what happens when it doesn’t. 😳

This unit gives us the opportunity to emphasize the real-world importance of CPR and how to properly use an AED. Sudden cardiac arrest can happen anywhere ... in a classroom, at a game, at church, or in our own homes. Knowing how to respond confidently and correctly can literally mean the difference between life and death.

As educators, our goal is not only to teach content, but to prepare students to be capable, compassionate, and responsible members of our community. Learning CPR and AED use empowers students to step up in critical moments and serve others when it matters most.

Knowledge saves lives. I am so proud of our students for taking this responsibility seriously. We know Dr. Joe would be so proud of the amazing anatomy students at Trinity High School. ā¤ļø

The winter trimester has officially wrapped up! Anatomy students took the last 20 minutes of class today to have a quick brain break after the final exams. With the state mandate of no cell phones, students have had to reconnect socially by interacting with each other! Seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter, warmed this teacher's heart. We often forget these young adults are technically still kids. ā¤ļø

As we hit the midpoint of the '25-'26 school year, we're taking a moment to highlight some of the fantastic things happening in the science department. We've been so focused on teaching and doing that we haven't had a chance to share with the world until now. We've had some incredible labs and activities, including teaching CPR and some AED training, and we've been working hard to build a positive culture amongst teachers and students. The Trinity Science Department would like to wish everyone a healthy and happy holiday season.

We’re wrapping up Week 4 of the 2025-2026 school year, and our Anatomy classes have been in full swing! Students explored directional terms, planes of the body, and body cavities by labeling with masking tape, then put their knowledge into action by creating ā€œanatomical aliensā€ out of playdoh. To top it off, they performed a pickle autopsy while learning the safe and proper techniques for dissection. Hands-on learning at its best! Euless Trinity High School

Students in Ms. Piskor’s Earth System’s class modeled the change in 3-dimensional models of the globe to 2-dimensional maps of the Earth. The students drew the continents and oceans on an orange to model the 3-dimensional structure, distances, and sizes. Then the students removed and flattened the orange peel to represent how the proportions and distances between the continents is altered when moving from a 3-dimensional to 2-dimensional model.
