For nearly thirty years Tradewinds H**p Company and our non profit network, H.E.A.D has been at the forefront developing a sustainable community, and eco economy. Working with h**p!, organic agriculture, fair trade relationships, herbal medicine, alternative education, community development, and cultural outreach. We have sponsored numerous groups over many years, working to further these goals, W

e feel the planet is going through many changes in the next few years. We are living in a very strange and fairly wonderous time, we have gathered earned and learned of the tools and talents and returned toward long lost knowledge of how to survive and thrive on our planet, through cooperation communication and caring. WE are witnessing the end of the carbon economy, war, the patriarchy and the limits of an exclusion and scarcity economy. Our people and our planet need us to return to the study and practice of living in harmony with the forces of nature the sun wind water and earth, we are turning away from domination, from governing through demanding and destructive forces of conquest and capitalization. This is the economy of the future. There are enough resources on the Earth if nurtured and cared for in the name of seven generations and all our relations. We reach out to you, your families and communities, to share our knowledge and combine our efforts toward fulfilling these goals.. Together we can find the way to care for all. My the strong care for the small, the community for the family, the youngsters care for the elders, and let us all care for the children of the future.

The researcher is Dr. Glen Jeffery, a British neuroscientist and vision researcher at University College London. He has spent years studying how red and near-infrared light affects mitochondria, the energy-producing structures inside cells.

In 2025, Jeffery and colleagues published a study showing that near-infrared wavelengths from sunlight (around 830-860 nanometers) can pass through parts of the human body, including the thorax (chest). They measured infrared light passing through volunteers and found that exposing the chest or back to this light for 15 minutes was associated with measurable improvements in color vision when tested 24 hours later. Remarkably, some improvements were still seen when participants' eyes were shielded from the light.

The researchers believe this may occur because these wavelengths improve mitochondrial function and ATP production. In simple terms, the light may be boosting cellular energy production in one part of the body, which then has downstream effects elsewhere through systemic signaling mechanisms.

Simply, the hypothesis is that infrared light absorbed by tissues in the body triggers biological responses that can later improve visual performance.
