Meet Tom Marriott, Advisory Council Member for the College of Arts and Sciences, a former PhD student at CAS and a volunteer at the UO for nearly 20 years.

Tom and his wife both attended the UO for graduate school and now they give back by providing scholarships for individual students; they even helped to create the original branding for CAS.

“Both my wife and I hope that our providing money for scholarships to individual students will inspire them to give back in the long run when they're financially able to," Marriott says.

On May 7, the UO community came together to celebrate the reopening of two iconic spaces on campus. After two years of thoughtful renovation, Villard and University Hall are ready to inspire a new generation of Ducks. With donor support and a special appreciation to the design and construction teams, Fortis Construction and Hennebery Eddy Architects, these buildings are symbolic of what it means to preserve our past while powering what’s next. 💚

Introducing She Champions Oregon (SCO), a women-led community rooted in philanthropy, connection, and impact at the University of Oregon.

Grounded in the belief that women's voices and generosity help shape the future, SCO unites women and allies who are dedicated to proactive engagement— expanding student opportunities, fueling innovation in research and programs, and championing the university's highest priorities through Oregon Rising.

Through mentorship, community-building, shared learning, and collective giving, SCO is creating a space where women can lead together and spark meaningful change across the UO and beyond.

What an inspirational afternoon at the inaugural She Champions Oregon Symposium, bringing together leaders, faculty, alumni, and students to celebrate the power of women-led philanthropy and its impact on the UO's future.
