Yagura set up for Obon

If you’re dancing at Obon, & under the age of 70, your presence is REQUIRED for set up.

If you are a member of JAA & also helping with Asian Celebration, I’m asking you to prioritize setting up for Obon.

We have a saying in JAA, “Many hands make light work!” Our work has not been “light” for for a long time! In recent years, only a handful of us have been providing *all* of the labor for Obon: loading, unloading, setting up, taking down, reloading & unloading of the yagura by ourselves. This, in addition to our other responsibilities to make Obon happen—along with the Asian Celebration. As much as we love & are dedicated to Obon, we cannot continue to do it alone. We need YOUR hands. This is what belonging to a community is all about!
