"I have always loved plants, fascinated in finding solutions to problems they face. For the first time, I had people I actually wanted to talk to about my love for nature and plants. My teachers supported me all the way in my aspirations, and listened to me talk and talk. School was always something that I used to hate, and I am so grateful this school showed me what it was like to love learning."

Please consider investing not only in your garden this spring as well as a Wellsprings Friends School education.

A Wellsprings education creates a safe and accepting environment where students can evolve and learn at their own pace. As we continue our end-of-the-school-year fundraising campaign, we are focusing on sowing the "Seeds of Our Future".
This week we are selling a limited amount of plant starts generously donated by Olive Creek Farm . This is an opportune time to get invested in not only your garden's potential but also supporting a Wellsprings' student's educational experience. Much like that of a garden, it takes a whole lot of love and hard work to grow a successful and fruitful school. The proceeds from this go to support the Garden Fund, for our Wellsprings Student Garden project, school repairs, and most importantly, to our constant gardeners--our teachers and their salaries. Wellsprings teachers tend to the needs of our students and help them earn their high school diplomas by going above and beyond the average duties of a teacher. The mentorship and creativity of our teachers creates accessible learning modules and content that truly engages students.
Please join us in finishing this school year strong by helping us reach our goal of $16,000 by the end of June.

We will be auctioning off our limited supply of plant starts from May 12-20 to help you get a head start on your spring and summer harvests.

In observance of the King Holiday, we would like to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by remembering him and his service as a civil rights activist through these words:
"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character-- that is the true goal of education."

A connection to the natural world and stewardship of the land are integral parts of a student's education at Wellsprings Friends School. Our teachers foster this awareness in the collective hope that we as a community will choose to leave the Earth better than we found it. Moving forward with our hands-on science program, we graciously begin to explore the environment we are living and learning in-- the Long Tom Watershed.
We are excited to announce our Fall Wellsprings Wetlands Fundraiser for the Outdoor Classroom space! In this first phase of the Wetlands Project we have been focusing on the ecological objectives such as removing human debris, breaking down soil mounds, and hosting grazing parties! In our next phase, we will be focusing on the physical infrastructure planning: the Outdoor Classroom. For this we will be designing a new water drainage system into the wetlands.
With your support and help Wellsprings Friends School students will be able to have a permanent space to learn about their surroundings with minimal impact on the wetlands habitat. Please help us reach our goal of $2500 for the planning and preparation of the outdoor classroom space. Thank you so much for your continued support on this important project!

Happy Spring Term Wellspringers! 🌷💐
As Mother’s Day approaches we are excited to announce the release of our Sweet Appreciation Care Packages curated and created by our very own kitchen coordinator, Anna Lankutis and her spring term bakers. Although we cannot all be together in person yet to celebrate our mothers and mother figures, we can still celebrate them. Our Sweet Appreciation Care Packages are the perfect token of gratitude for anyone you wish to honor on this special day. For a Mother’s Day Brunch or a nice weekend retreat, these sweets are sure to make your mouth water until you get your hands on them.
Anna and her lovely sous chefs are whipping up an array of allergy friendly treats including a variety of scrumptious scones, delectable deserts and satiating snacks to round off a day of adoration. To accompany these sweet and savory treats, our community partner, WildCraft Cider Works has generously contributed a bottle of their Gin Blackberry Botanical cider, a highly anticipated seasonal release that many come to look forward to every spring.
The funds from each purchased care package go directly to the cause of buying a much-needed new oven for the school kitchen. Help us keep things hot, so Anna and students can continue cooking for the community.
As we are a small kitchen and family, we can offer only a limited number of Sweet Appreciation Care Packages to be pre-ordered online. More details about the fun and fresh flavors of the box and how to pre-order will be coming this Wednesday, April 28th, so be on the lookout for that.
Happy Term 4! No April Fooling about how excited we are about our class offerings for Term 4! 🤣

Wellsprings Way Editor's note:
The first piece of artwork in the latest edition of the Wellsprings Way was mistakenly included and labeled as artwork created by one of our students. It was collected by us from a twitter page that our student had posted on, and our student never claimed the artwork as their own. We apologize to the artist and our student for the mistake.
We hope you enjoy some more of the artwork that Santiago and Kyle had submitted!
