I am so happy to officially welcome the Ahavas Torah community to Chabad of Eugene.
We’re looking forward to this next chapter together and to continuing to grow Jewish life in Eugene through learning, prayer, holidays, programs and community. We’re especially excited to welcome new faces, friendships and new energy into our blessed community, and we look forward to all the amazing things we will build together.
There really couldn’t be a more fitting Torah portion for this moment. This week’s Parsha begins, “Atem nitzavim hayom kulchem,” “You are standing today, all of you, before Hashem.” Chassidus explains that these words are a preparation for Rosh Hashanah. The way we prepare to enter the new year is kulchem, by standing together as one.
Each person brings something unique, and it is specifically when we come together as one community that we become a vessel for Hashem’s blessing. As we begin this new chapter together, may that unity bring blessing, growth and a sweet new year for our entire community.
