Founded in 1994, Oak Hill School offers instruction to grades PK-8. OHS is accredited by the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools (PNAIS), the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), and is licensed by the state of Oregon. The campus sits on 72 picturesque acres of land overlooking both Mount Pisgah and Eugene's south hills. Tonight Oak Hill hosted the King of the Hill cross country invitational — and our campus was the perfect backdrop. Runners from across the region took on our trails and hills, and our community showed up to cheer them on!

Oak Hill’s Kindergarteners spent time learning how to make apple c***r- the whole process, start to finish! Five year olds pressing apples and tasting what they made. It was a good day to be a Kindergartener. 🍎

Sticky fingers, happy faces. Our 2nd graders jarred honey from our campus hives this week and learned just how much work goes into every drop. They learned how bees make honey, why pollinators matter, and how sweet the payoff is for patient, careful work. 🐝🍯

Every year we introduce you to some of the people who make Oak Hill what it is. This year we're starting with Anya, our new Outdoor Adventure teacher.

Anya grew up outside near Seattle, earned her masters in environmental science, and spent years teaching at a forest school in Idaho where she learned two things: take care of yourself so you can show up for your students, and make sure everyone's basic needs are met before you try to teach them anything.

She came to Oak Hill because she realized she gets more out of watching people learn and grow than mastering her own skills. She's a painter, a fly fisher, a rock climber, and a self-described jack of all trades with wonderful mentors who shaped how she teaches.

This year she's most excited about the South Sister trip and building relationships at Oak Hill.

Her two words for Oak Hill? Top notch.

We think she's pretty top notch too. Welcome, Anya.

Dancing? Yes. Good food? Obviously. The whole Oak Hill community in one place having the best time? Absolutely.

The Back to School BBQ is how we kick off every school year and honestly we think every school year should start exactly like this.
