6th grade homework this month: survive the woods.
They passed.
We gave a group of four-year-olds a phone and walked away.
No notes. No direction. Full creative control.
This is what they made.

Fourth Grade Campout Loading ....
Eastern Oregon here they come!
We had such a lovely evening at the Asian Night Market.
Current students, incoming students, alumni, and prospective families stopped by to play Chinese Checkers, try calligraphy and origami, and connect with members of our Oak Hill community.
A special thank you to Ms. Sophie, Ms. May, and our amazing 8th grade Mandarin students for sharing their time, talents, and enthusiasm throughout the evening.
We are so grateful to offer Mandarin as part of our K–8 program and to create opportunities for students to engage with language and culture in meaningful, joyful ways.
Thank you to the Oregon Asian Celebration for letting us join in on the fun!
A huge thank you to our Community Support Association and Oak Hill families for making this year’s Faculty & Staff Appreciation Luncheon so special 💛
From the beautiful decorations and delicious lunch to the thoughtful gifts donated by families, every detail helped our faculty and staff feel truly celebrated and appreciated.
Moments like these are a wonderful reflection of the care, generosity, and connection that make the Oak Hill community so special. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible.

At yesterday’s Community Meeting, students interviewed our new music teacher, Ms. Siera, and learned about the many adventures that shaped her love of music and teaching.
From performing internationally with a chamber choir at the University of Oregon, to studying music in Ghana and New Orleans, to directing children’s musicals, Siera brings a deep love of the arts and global music traditions to Oak Hill.
Students also learned she loves hiking, scuba diving, salsa dancing, and spending time with her dog Penny… and that when her parents first let her choose an instrument to learn, she picked the bagpipes.
Meet Coach E and Coach W.
They won the PE Coach for a Day prize at our school auction and they did not take the job lightly. Full warmup. Full drills. Full game.

From egg to chick 🐣
Our 1st graders welcomed baby chicks into their classroom after spending weeks observing, waiting, learning, and caring for the eggs as they incubated.
Through hands-on experiences like this, students build curiosity, patience, gentleness, and a deeper understanding of the natural world. The joy and excitement these chicks brought to the classroom was something special to witness.
Experiential learning at its sweetest.
