The Design Library and asked our patrons what their hopes, fears, and dreams were during our return to in-person classes from fall 2021-winter 2022. We compiled the responses in a zine, which will be added to the Design’s Library’s Special Collections. A limited number of copies will be available for free, but you can also access a digital version through the link in our Instagram bio.
Some responses were heartwarming, some heartbreaking. Please look out for each other during these strange times 💛

Recent acquisition! ‘There Are No Homos*xuals in Iran’ by Laurence Rasti is an intimate photobook capturing glimpses of life between same s*x partners living in a largely homophobic society. The title is a response to former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s claim that homos*xuality is not as prevalent in Iran as it is in western societies.

Project goals include:
Honoring the past, present, and future of Native and Afro descendent peoples. Restoring and reviving our relationship to one another and to the natural world. Holding and regarding kinship, solidarity, and community as sacred. Refusing the narratives of erasure, dehumanization, and subjugation. Envisioning a future rooted in Black Liberation and Indigenous Sovereignty.
