LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Students wishing to take on a leadership position can do so within student government or a student club or organization. OSE offers a number of development courses and workshops to help students identify and develop leadership skills while at Lane. We are reimagining our leadership programs and are currently seeking input from students and campus partners about the types of leadership programs they believe would be most valuable. If you are interested in providing feedback about leadership programs or support for student organizations, we invite you to see any team member is the Office of Student Engagement here at Lane Community College.
ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
With more than 15 clubs and organizations on campus, everyone is sure to find their niche. From clubs that promote anime to ceramics to drone and speech groups to the Muslim Student Association, there’s definitely something for everyone. Passionate about something that’s not already out there? Students can round up their friends and start a club of their own.
Lane students are encouraged to be a part of something bigger and take part in community service. They can join various outreach opportunity to better the community called Lane County, or mobilize the community to register to vote. The Office of Student Engagement (OSE) can link students to many service opportunities, one-time or short term, on campus or off.
It’s never too early to start building a resume. OSE offers students a number of work-study employment opportunities – clerical and in audio/video – at the OSE office and event space in the Center building room 202.
