Meet Ray Clark. A Portland native and Double Duck, Ray completed his undergraduate degree at UO before returning to Eugene to earn his MBA with specializations in advanced strategy and leadership and sustainable business practices.

After three years of working from home, Ray came into the program ready for a career pivot and a return to in-person learning. He wanted to become a more well-rounded business professional, and he found that growth by saying yes to opportunities he might not have pursued even a year earlier.

As vice president of the graduate chapter of Net Impact, Ray helped build community around sustainability and impact-driven business. He also served as program manager and co-director for the 2025 Summit for Sustainable Organizations before returning as a mentor in 2026. He also led two Professional Edge workshops on portfolio building with Notion, sharing practical tools with other students.

The MBA international trip to Thailand and Singapore brought many of those lessons into focus. Through 19 site visits, Ray connected what he had learned in the classroom with real organizations, industries, and cultural contexts, pushing him to think more globally and ask better questions.

Some of Ray's favorite memories came from the moments between the major milestones: hallway conversations with classmates, collaboration on projects and events, Thursday MBA seminars, and exploring new places with his cohort. Along the way, he found friendships he expects to carry well beyond graduation.

His advice for other business students: be intentional with your time. "It can be easy to feel pulled in every direction," he shared. "I've learned the importance of being mindful about where I invest my energy, knowing when to take a step back, and recognizing when to push myself a little harder."

Next, Ray is looking forward to a summer of recharging, traveling, and spending quality time with his partner, friends, and his dog, Boots. He will also continue his consulting work in Notion and AI while exploring full-time opportunities in digital operations, strategy, and meaningful organizational change.

Congratulations, Ray! Once a Duck, always a Duck. 💚💛🦆

Meet Wendi Wu. Wendi is earning her PhD in finance, continuing a journey that has taken her from studying finance as an undergraduate in Shanghai to earning her master's degree at Case Western Reserve University and pursuing her doctorate at the University of Oregon.

At UO, Wendi found mentorship that has made her a stronger researcher, teacher, and future faculty member. She is especially grateful for her advisor, Maria Chaderina, whose guidance helped her discover her own research interests, grow more confident as a presenter, and navigate the academic job market.

Wendi's dissertation, "Clearing the Murky Waters: How the First Analyst Recommendation Affects Retail Trading Costs," explores how credible financial information can improve the trading environment for everyday investors. She also challenged herself to communicate complex ideas beyond her own field by participating in the Three Minute Thesis competition.

"There will be challenging moments during your PhD journey, but that is completely normal," she shared. She encourages students to keep going and reminds them not to go through it alone. "I also highly recommend coming to the office and talking with your colleagues regularly," she added. Those everyday conversations, Wendi said, can offer encouragement, inspiration, and even new research ideas.

Like so many students, most of Wendi's favorite memories happened outside of formal settings. She will always remember chatting with friends in the office, finding her desk space filled with surprise birthday balloons, seeing "Back to the Future: The Musical" with her best friend, and spending weekends hiking, paddleboarding, watching movies, and exploring Eugene.

"My friends made Oregon feel like a second home," she shared.

After graduation, Wendi will join the University of Northern Iowa as a tenure-track assistant professor of finance, where she hopes to be the same positive influence to others that her advisor and friends were for her.

Congratulations, Wendi! And remember, once a Duck, always a Duck. 💚💛🦆

Meet the Roselli family. This year, they have two great reasons to celebrate: Isabella Roselli earned her Juris Doctor from Oregon Law, and her brother Nick Roselli is graduating with his BS in business administration with concentrations in finance and entrepreneurship and a minor in economics.

Originally from New Jersey, Isabella and Nick agree that one of the best parts of attending the University of Oregon at the same time is sharing their college and graduate experiences, even in different programs. "We especially enjoyed Oregon football games and spending time together on game days," Isabella said.

Nick’s advice for current and future students is to simply enjoy the moment and get the most they possibly can out of their time in Eugene. "My time attending the University of Oregon truly went by in a blink, and it's surreal to me that I am graduating. I have so many memories at this school, but I always loved football game days. Every weekend in my four years here was a blast when I spent it hanging out with my best friends."

Isabella encourages current and future Law Ducks to take advantage of every opportunity that comes their way and to build relationships with classmates, professors, and mentors. "Some of the most meaningful experiences and opportunities come from the people you meet along the way."

During her time at Oregon Law, Isabella served as president of the Sports and Entertainment Law Forum, worked as a certified law clerk in the Domestic Violence Clinic, and spent her third year working with the United States Attorney's Office in Eugene. After taking the bar exam later this summer, Isabella will begin her legal career at the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender.

She added, "One of my favorite memories at the University of Oregon is the sense of community within the law school and the opportunity to gain hands-on legal experience through clinics and externships. Sharing my time at the University of Oregon with my brother made the experience even more special."

Congratulations, Isabella and Nick! And remember, once a Duck, always a Duck. 💚💛🦆

Meet Quang Nguyen. Born and raised in San Diego, Quang had only been living in Oregon for about two years when he enrolled in the Oregon Executive MBA program in Portland. For someone still finding his footing in a new city, the friendships he built with his cohort became one of the most meaningful parts of the experience.

Whenever a classmate earned a promotion or started a new role, Quang gave them a bottle of champagne to celebrate the moment. It became such a fun tradition that when he was promoted in January to lead marketplace planning for the Global Jordan Brand at Nike, his cohort returned the favor and gifted him a bottle, too.

That same supportive spirit carried into everything he did: helping create the first-ever Class 40 yearbook, guiding his cohort through Vietnam like a local, and showing up at the orientation picnic to welcome the next cohort.

Outside of class and work, Quang enjoys running, exploring Portland restaurants, and working on warming up to nature here in Oregon.

Congratulations, Quang! Once a Duck, always a Duck. 💚💛🦆

Meet Zita Lopez Wong. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Zita moved to Newberg, Oregon with her now-husband after completing her undergraduate degree. Now, she's graduating from the Lundquist College of Business with both an MS in finance and an MBA with a specialization in innovation and entrepreneurship.

When Zita began her graduate studies, she didn't expect finance and analytical work to become such an important part of her path. But her curiosity, work ethic, and love of research opened doors she hadn't imagined for herself.

At UO, Zita found opportunities to explore both sides of her interests. As an MBA student lead for the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship and a Launch Oregon Fellow, she worked at the intersection of venture development, strategy, and community-building. Through the Oregon Innovation Challenge, she also helped secure funding for CLR Roofing LLC, her husband's family business.

"These roles complemented one another perfectly," she shared. "I am grateful for the hands-on experience and the opportunity to be part of expanding the UO entrepreneurial ecosystem."

She also found her people through Graduate Women in Business, where she connected with a community of highly talented and supportive peers. One of her fondest memories was the group’s holiday party, which left her feeling empowered, uplifted, and deeply connected to the people around her.

Then came a turning point she had not expected. Drawn to the opportunity by her love of research and analysis, Zita applied for a competitive internship with D.A. Davidson. She earned the position, which later turned into a full-time offer.

After graduation, she will begin her career as an equity research associate with D.A. Davidson in Portland.

Congratulations, Zita! And remember, once a Duck, always a Duck. 💚💛🦆

Meet Alely Ruiz. Originally from Albany, Oregon, Alely is earning her BS in business administration with a concentration in finance.

Throughout her time at the University of Oregon, Alely embraced opportunities to learn while giving back to the communities around her.

As a member of the MEChA student organization, she volunteered and supported events such as the Raíces Unidas Youth Conference, which helps high school students experience college through workshops and community-building activities. She also volunteered with the Mobile Mexican Consulate, assisting community members with consular services and connecting with local organizations.

Alely also interned with Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center through the UO Portland Internship Experience, where she helped coordinate community events and gained insight into nonprofit work. She also interned for several departments at UO, including the Alumni Association, Financial Administration Shared Services, and the Vivian Olum Child Development Center. As a market research and data assistant with University Communications, Alely has contributed to major projects including Ducks Give and the university's transition to the Big Ten Conference.

Along the way, Alely learned the importance of building a support system and making time to recharge. She is grateful for the mentors and staff members at UO who encouraged her growth, as well as the community she found through GroupX classes at the Student Recreation Center.

Her advice for incoming students? "Ask yourself, 'When I'm old, what kind of memories do I want to have about my college experience?' and go for whatever you'd think would be cool!"

After graduation, Alely plans to take a gap year to travel, explore new places, and consider where she would like to begin the next chapter of her journey.

Congratulations, Alely! And remember, once a Duck, always a Duck. 💚💛🦆

Meet Jesus Ledezma Santoyo. Originally from Hood River, Oregon, Jesus is earning his BS in business administration with concentrations in sports business and marketing.

His path to graduation has required patience, resilience, and a willingness to keep moving forward.

Diagnosed with leukemia during his sophomore year of high school, Jesus wasn't supposed to graduate with his class. But he did. He went on to complete college courses at Lane Community College while prioritizing his health before transferring to UO.

Arriving on campus brought a new set of challenges. Having taken mostly online classes during treatment, the number of presentations and group projects in his business classes pushed Jesus outside his comfort zone. But through preparation, practice, and the support of his classmates and instructors, he became more confident speaking in front of others. The experience helped him come out of his shell.

His advice to other transfer students? Do not be afraid to meet people, build friendships, and step beyond your comfort zone.

Jesus is especially grateful for Kim Rambo, senior associate director of academic advising at the Lundquist College, who helped him build a course plan that supported his goals and kept him on track to graduate.

This year brought an especially meaningful milestone: Jesus officially reached the five-year mark since his last treatment and is now cancer free. 🙌

A lifelong sports fan, sneaker enthusiast, and rec soccer player, Jesus is now looking toward a career in sports, brand, or product marketing, with a particular interest in footwear and the stories behind the brands he has loved his whole life.

"I am more motivated than ever at having a second chance. I am ready to work."

Congratulations, Jesus! Once a Duck, always a Duck. 💚💛🦆
