UO Students for Global Health We are a student group devoted to social justice and global health equity. We meet weekly to learn, discuss, and plan events.
We work particularly against diseases that most adversely affect people living in poverty and the conditions that make them vulnerable by raising awareness and funds on campus. As Partners in Health Engage chapter, the national PIH student network, we raise money and awareness for health related causes at the local, national and global levels. We'd love to have you at our meetings!

We are so excited to announce our Menstrual Kit Making event, next Thursday! This is a GREAT way to assemble health resources to give back to your local community.

This week's meeting is our Global Day of Action! We will be hosting a film screening of "Bending the Arc," a powerful documentary about Partners in Health's grassroots beginnings as an organization fighting for global health equity.
Feel free to bring homework in case you need a midterm sesh, bring friends, or come ready to tune in 100% :)
We will have FREE PIZZA. And be sure to talk to your global health professors about getting extra credit for attending!

Fundraising update! Thank you to everyone who bought a Smoothies in Solidarity Jamba Juice discount card and especially to those who helped sell them to loved ones! This year we sold 41 cards! Per their requirement, half of the money has to go back to Jamba Juice but we were able to donate 222$ to Partners in Health’s University of Global Health Equity. We received 320$ through venmo payments and 90$ in cash for cards. An additional 7$ was donated just for PIH. 222$ is 410/2 + 7$ in PIH donations + 10$ to cover cost of processing. Please reach out if anyone has questions! On the year we have 500$ raised plus 95$ from Salsa in Solidarity Chipotle night which has been mailed but not yet entered into our tally. Thank you UO community for standing in solidarity with the movement for public health equity.

SGH was delighted to attend the UO Med Advance conference this weekend, featuring an opening speech by co-pres Mayurika Bhaskar, and a biomarkers workshop by Global Health faculty Josh Snodgrass! Other highlights include a suture clinic, ultrasound workshop, networking opportunities, and tons of raffle prizes. Looking forward to attending next year as well.
