The Public Interest Environmental Law Conference (PIELC) will be held from March 3-6 and is organized by the Land Air Water Society (LAW). LAW is a student organized environmental law society at the University of Oregon and is the nation's oldest and largest student environmental law society. Their most prioritized activity is organizing the PIELC. This event offers CLE credit.

New jobs are emerging as federal agencies expand efforts to address climate change, this entails implementing programs through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Some of the jobs include those posted on USAJOBS, the US Department of Energy's Clean Energy Corps program, and the US Department of Homeland Security's Climate Change Professionals program. The Guardian recently featured an article written by Oregon Law professor and UN special rapporteur on the right to food, Michael Fakhri. His writing highlights food rights. This hard-hitting article emphasizes how food insecurity is deeply entrenched within human rights and social protection. Fakhri is an independent official advisor for the UN Summit on Food Systems and stresses the need for world governments to implement a plan to improve this pressing issue. Fakhri's hope is that the world will congregate to combat food insecurity during these troubling times.
