NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS until Thursday, October 1, 2026 for our Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program (TAAP).

The program offers folk and traditional artists (also known as culture keepers) a $3,500 stipend to teach their art form to apprentices from their same communities, Tribes, sacred or occupational groups. The stipend supports mentor artists in sharing their knowledge, skills and expertise with apprentices of great promise, empowering them to carry on and strengthen Oregon’s living cultural traditions.

Bring your popcorn! Be the first to watch short documentary videos summarizing Oregon Folklife Network’s 2025 Traditional Arts Apprenticeship projects. After each video, hear live reflections from the featured apprenticeship teams. This FREE film screening will happen virtually via ZOOM.

OFN’s Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program supports mentor traditional artists in sharing their knowledge, skills and expertise with apprentices of great promise who aim to carry on and strengthen Oregon’s living cultural traditions.
