🌲 I want to share something I’ve witnessed again and again at Oregon Outdoor Kids.

When children first join us, many arrive not knowing what to do with unstructured time outside.

They’re used to being entertained. They’re unsure where to start. They may hang back and wait for someone to tell them what to do.

Then, slowly, something incredible happens.

They start noticing things.

A stick becomes a tool. A puddle becomes an adventure. A patch of dirt becomes a place to create. A child who didn’t think they could climb suddenly reaches the top and realizes, “I did it.”

They begin trusting themselves.

They become more confident, more creative, and more independent - not because we taught them how to play, but because we gave them the time, space, and freedom to discover it themselves.

This is why I started Oregon Outdoor Kids.

I believe children deserve the chance to have this kind of childhood - one where they can explore, take healthy risks, connect with nature, and learn who they are.

But I also know that not every family who wants this experience can afford it.

That’s why I created the Oregon Outdoor Kids Community Access Fund - to help make outdoor preschool available to more Eugene-area children.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to provide tuition assistance for families who otherwise may not have this opportunity.

If you believe children deserve the chance to grow up outdoors, I’d be grateful if you would donate or share this fundraiser.

Because sometimes, all a child needs is the chance to step outside and discover what they’re capable of. 🫶
