Project Hope is this Sunday! 👟

Bethel K–12 students are invited to Project Hope on Sunday, August 30th, from 1–4 PM at Willamette High School!

Project Hope is a one-day event where students can pick up new shoes, socks, backpacks, and school supplies to help get ready for the new school year!

Multiple appointment times are available, so you can choose the time that works best for your schedule.

Important Guidelines:
-Each student must have their own ticket to attend. (Parents do not need tickets.)
-Students must be present to receive their supplies. A student may not register for more than one giveaway.
-Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time—not earlier.
-Only students enrolled in Bethel K–12 schools are eligible. Unfortunately, supplies and shoe sizes are not available for pre-K students.

🚌 Transportation Reminder!

Families must submit a transportation request each school year for students who need bus transportation—even if you provided transportation information during registration.

Students with transportation listed in their IEP do NOT need to complete the form.

📅 Request deadline: August 21
Requests submitted by August 21 will be assigned a route before the first day of school. Late requests may experience delays.

Transportation request forms are available on the Bethel School District website.

We wrapped up our summer reading program as well as our KITS (kindergarteners in transition to school) program this week! We were sad to see our students go, but we're incredibly proud of the progress they made while in these programs. Between KITS and summer reading we had a lot of fun! We took a trip to the Oregon Zoo, we made ice cream, we did a LOT of reading, we prepared for kindergarten and we even received a visit from the one and only Anita Archer!

A HUGE thank you to all the staff who made this program so successful this summer - we are so grateful for the passion and joy you bring to our classrooms even in the summer months. You rock!

This recognition celebrates the incredible teamwork, innovation, and dedication our team brings to promoting mental health and wellness for our students every single day.

This award reflects what we already know: when we work together with a shared vision, amazing things happen for our students and community.

A huge thank you to the The Register-Guard for coming out to highlight our summer reading program! We see such incredible progress for our students who participate in summer reading. Last year, more than 25 percent of students who participated no longer needed intensive reading support by the end. That's huge progress, and we're excited to see the data from this summer. 😍

"I can't imagine a better way for our state to invest money in summer programs than to focus on literacy," Robinson-Wolgamott said. "I am very thankful for this funding. I think it is a wise investment in our kids, which is a wise investment in our state and our communities."

The Bethel School District received a last-minute grant of $900,000 for its Summer Reading Program, which is meant to fund the next three years. See link below ⬇️
