One week later, and we’re still feeling the love from our Shasta Celebration 💙 More than 500 community members came together to walk the halls, share memories, enjoy live music from our DJ and Shasta Jazz Band, and celebrate the incredible history of Shasta before it’s closed at the end of the school year. From the giant inflatable slide and glitter tattoos, to food, laughter, and reconnecting with friends old and new – it was a beautiful reminder of the community Shasta built over the years.

Thank you to everyone who came to honor the memories and make one more unforgettable day together!

More than 400 students, families, and community members joined us for an evening filled with music, creativity, hands-on art activities, food, and fun — and the feedback was amazing!

From student performances to collaborative art projects and creative activity stations, it was so special to see our community making art and music together. A huge thank you to our staff, volunteers, performers, artists, and families who helped make this event such a huge success.

We already can’t wait for next year!

Senator James Manning Jr. recently visited Kalapuya High School for one of the school’s Village Meetings — a special all-school gathering where students and staff come together to celebrate accomplishments, share presentations, recognize one another, and build community.

Sen. Manning encouraged students to keep showing up for themselves and their community, get involved in causes they care about, and participate in the upcoming May election. A longtime supporter of Kalapuya and Bethel, he always brings encouragement and inspiration for students and staff alike.

As the school year winds down, Kalapuya students are staying busy wrapping up projects, completing testing, and preparing for exciting summer opportunities. Through hands-on learning and community partnerships, students have opportunities to work at summer camps, join trail cleanup crews, help build tiny homes, and more.

And for many students, graduation is just around the corner — an exciting next step as they prepare for new adventures beyond Kalapuya! 🎓

Huge congratulations to Meadow View 7th grader Calliope Brown, whose artwork earned second place in this year’s Lane Transit District Student Art Contest! 🎨🚌

This year’s theme, “Where LTD Can Take You,” inspired nearly 100 students from across Lane County to submit original artwork showcasing creativity, opportunity, and imagination. Calliope’s incredible piece stood out among entries from students throughout the region — and her artwork will now be featured on an LTD bus this summer!

LTD staff visited Meadow View School to surprise and honor Calliope with a $100 award check alongside her proud family, including her younger siblings.

We are so proud of Calliope for sharing her talent and representing Meadow View and Bethel in such a meaningful way. Keep an eye out for her artwork rolling through the community this summer! 💙

It was a sweet morning at Danebo Elementary School as kindergarten students celebrated the end of the school year with their annual watermelon-themed performance! 🍉

Students sang watermelon songs, recited poems, showcased their watermelon artwork, and proudly performed for their families while wearing adorable watermelon hats. Following the performance, students and families enjoyed slices of watermelon together to celebrate all of their hard work this year.

A huge thank you to Danebo music teacher Lori Kelley, kindergarten teachers, and educational assistants for helping create such a joyful tradition and memorable experience for students and families. 💚
