Nearby Nature

Nearby Nature Nearby Nature is a non-profit education group dedicated to fostering appreciation of nature nearby. Why? Because these folks knew something important.

Nearby Nature was established in 1992 by a group of inspired local naturalists and educators. People of all ages, from the tiniest tots to the wisest elders, thrive when they connect with nature nearby. Since 1992, Nearby Nature's staff and volunteers have served tens of thousands of local children, adults, families, and teachers. We have also worked with thousands of volunteers and numerous community organizations. Every year, kids in our programs spend 28,000+ hours outside!

Staff Spotlight! 🌟

We would like to highlight Lead Instructor Esmé and Teacher Intern Kate! These two bring such a special spirit to our Nearby Nature team, and have both been pivotal in making our day camps educational, creative, and fun for campers and staff alike. Here is a note about Teacher Intern Kate's experience with Nearby Nature!

“Working here at Nearby Nature has been an incredible experience. Each different camp group varies greatly in personalities and expertise, and it has been so lovely to witness all of the kids grow and flourish here!”
