Our first days of school were a success! There was so much excitement in the courtyard at morning drop off. It feels so good to have the students and staff back on campus. I’m believing that CLA‘s best days are ahead.

📚 Our teachers are learners, too! 🍎✏️

Today, our CLA teachers spent time engaged in Sound Wall training aligned with the Science of Reading! Our staff participated in hands-on learning focused on how to effectively teach reading, spelling, phonemic awareness, and the connection between sounds and letters.

One of the best ways we can support our students is by continuing to grow as educators. Our teachers were engaged, asking questions, practicing strategies, and learning tools they can take straight back into their classrooms.

We are excited to put this learning into action as we help our students build strong foundations and become confident readers and writers! 💙💚

🦅💙 One step closer to school starting! 💙🦅

Back to School Night was fantastic! It was so good to see our returning families back on campus and to meet and welcome our new families into the CLA family. There was so much excitement in the air, and it made me even more ready to get this school year started!

A special thank you to Carlton Landing Community Church for providing dinner for our families tonight. We are so thankful for the way our community continues to love and support our little school. Thank you to Heather Scott for serving our families at the meal table.

One of my absolute favorite parts of the evening was gathering together for a time of prayer led by Pastor Chris. There is something incredibly special about standing together as a school community and praying over the year ahead. To know that our students, teachers, staff, and school are being covered in prayer means more to me than I can put into words. ❤️

As a principal, there are so many things to think about and prepare for as a new school year begins, but tonight was a beautiful reminder of what matters most—the people who fill our school and the community that surrounds them.

Thank you to everyone who came out tonight and helped us kick off another year at CLA!

Now we just have one more big step…

💙💚 A HUGE THANK YOU FROM CLA! 💚💙

What an incredible Volunteer Work Day!

I cannot say thank you enough to our staff, school families, board members, and community members who showed up today and WORKED!
We had a long list of projects to tackle, and the teams who came together today absolutely got it done! 💪

As a school administrator, seeing people give their time, energy, talents, tools, and resources to come together for one common goal is a beautiful thing—and something I never take for granted.

Today was such a great reminder of what makes our CLA community so special. I could not have asked for a better day or a better group of volunteers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤️

And when I say we got some work done... we got some WORK done! 🙌

A special shout-out to my husband, Jimbo, who somehow never says no when I come up with another CLA project. 😂 He truly saved the day today by bringing the skid steer and helping us move all that mulch!

There is something pretty special about looking around our campus at the end of the day and knowing that our people did this together.

Every project completed today means our campus is safer, cleaner, more beautiful, and more ready to welcome our students back.

This is community. This is teamwork. This is CLA. 💙💚

🍀 Exciting news! 🍀

We are so excited to be offering 4-H Club at Carlton Landing Academy this year! We can’t wait to watch our students learn new skills, build confidence, make friends, and discover new interests through fun, hands-on activities. Ms. Whitney Devine will be the club leader and she is so excited!!

If you’re new to 4-H, it’s a youth organization built around the motto “Learn by Doing.” The four H’s stand for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health, helping kids develop leadership, responsibility, citizenship, and life skills through projects in STEM, agriculture, art, healthy living, public speaking, community service, and so much more.

This is going to be an amazing year full of learning, growing, and making a difference. We can’t wait to get started!

🛠️ Carlton Landing Academy Volunteer Work Day

⏰ 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

It takes a community to prepare for a successful school year, and we would love your help!

Carlton Landing Academy is hosting a Volunteer Campus Work Day, and we're inviting parents, grandparents, local businesses, church groups, and community members to partner with us as we prepare our campus to welcome students back.

We Need Volunteers Of All Skill Levels!

🧽 Cleaning & organizing crews
🔨 Handy men and women (bring tool belts, drills, ladders, etc.)
🌿 Green thumbs for landscaping
💦 Power washers
💪 Anyone willing to lend a helping hand!

Projects Include:
Deep cleaning classrooms and the cafeteria
Power washing building entrances
Hanging AEDs and fire extinguishers
Installing new Promethean Boards
Sprucing up flower beds and raised garden beds
Moving unused furniture to storage
Adding wood chips to the playground for additional safety padding
Assembling new shelves in a classroom

Donations Needed:
Cleaning supplies
Flowers, soil, and mulch
Wood chips for the playground
Volunteers with tools and equipment

By donating your time, talents, and resources, you're helping Carlton Landing Academy reduce maintenance and cleaning costs so that more of our resources can be invested directly into our students.

Don’t miss our back to school night gathering and new parent orientation on August 11.

New families will want to plan for meeting teachers and eating between 3:30-4:15 since you will have new parent orientation from 4:30-5:00.

Returning parents are welcome to meet teachers and eat from 3:30-4:15 or 4:30-5:00.

We invite all families to join us on the basketball court at 4:15 for a time of prayer over our students, staff, families and school year.
