The Saint Photios Orthodox Theological Seminary is delighted to welcome the new and returning students for the Academic Year 2026–2027.
During the first presentations at Orientation, students reflected on the Seminary’s mission, the importance of discipline in their lives, and how Orthodoxy, Orthopraxy, and Orthopathy work together to shape integrity. Students also received important updates on the Seminary handbook, ministry formation, student representation, and academic support as they prepare for the year ahead.
On the second day of Orientation, administrators, staff members, and students traveled to Wildlife Safari in Southern Oregon for a day trip together. The 600-acre park features animals from around the world along a 4.5-mile drive-through loop, giving the group the chance to see a wide variety of wildlife, from giraffes to grizzly bears. The outing provided an enjoyable opportunity for students and Seminary personnel to spend time together outside of the classroom and to get to know one another.
On the third day of Orientation, faculty members, staff members, and students gathered at the Convent of Saint Elizabeth the Grand Duchess of Russia for a delicious luncheon prepared by the Sisterhood. Afterward, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Father Gregory Hagiogrēgoritēs, the Director of Spiritual Life, gave a presentation on critical administrative and pastoral topics, reinforcing the Seminary’s commitment to the Orthodox Christian ethos, while establishing clear protocols for mental health needs, grievance resolution, and safety.
Following the weekend, during which the Seminary students joined the community of Saints Cyprian and Justina Orthodox Church for the Divine Services, classes officially began on Monday, August 25/September 7, 2026.
