The organization has been created to provide an active support network for clam diggers and shell fishing families; identify and make available benefits and health insurance; develop community assistance funds; promote fisheries education and sustainability; create economic development opportunities and to promote public policy that actively assists the shell fishing community.

The Essex clam flats are closed for 21 days starting today due to a sewer main break. If you or anyone you know is looking for side jobs to offset the loss of income the Essex Notices page is consolidating job offers and work opportunities.
