State Announces COVID-19 Exposure Notification App
NM Notify Phone App Launches in New Mexico

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health on Tuesday announced the launch of an Exposure Notification System. When activated on a Smart Phone, the app alerts individuals when they have been exposed to someone who has verified that they are infected with COVID-19.

“This is a powerful tool in the fight to stop the spread of COVID-19. We strongly encourage the public to activate the NM Notify app on your iPhone or Android phone,” said NMDOH Secretary Dr. Tracie Collins. “In combination with vaccination, testing, and continued COVID-safe practices, this app will help us contain COVID-19 and protect New Mexicans.”

The app was designed in a first-of-its-kind partnership between Google and Apple. Once downloaded, the app uses Bluetooth technology to communicate with other phones that have activated the app. Then, if one of the users verifies an infection of COVID-19, all users that have been in contact with the infected person within a 14-day period will receive a notification of possible exposure. The app then directs users on next steps to prevent additional spread of COVID-19.

The NM Notify app is completely safe and anonymous, and fully protects users’ privacy. No personal data is collected through the app. The app is in wide use in many states and around the globe. According to Google and Apple data, every two downloads of the app can prevent one infection.

To learn more about the NM Notify Exposure Notification app, go to NMNotify.com.

Help the Rivera Rodriguez Family Find A New Home, organized by Ramon Rivera

HEP Family,

As you may have seen in the news, CA, OR, and WA have had fires during these last few weeks. In Oregon, the fires devastated several small towns and hundreds of our migrant families have lost their homes. For example, southern Oregon is home to around 3,000 K-12 migrant students and about 500-600 migrant families have lost their homes and many didn’t have home insurances.

One of the students, Ramon and his family lost their home to the fires. Ramon is a great student with bigger dreams and aspirations for his life. He is a hard-working and at the same time a humble student who is determined to continue his education. Despite of this unfortunate setback, Ramon plans to attend OSU this fall to continue to pursue his goal to become a doctor.

Today, Ramon and his family are in need of help. A GoFundMe account was created for him. So, I’m asking your help on behalf of Ramon by donating to or sharing his account link below:

https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-the-rivera-rodriquez-family-find-a-new-home?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet

Please let me know if you have any questions. I appreciate any help for Ramon.
