🏀 TEQ Basketball Families! 🏀

We're excited to get started! Beginning Monday, August 24, open gym will be available for our 6th, 5th, and 4th grade students.

📅 Practice Schedule

• Mondays: 5:00–7:00 p.m.
• Tuesdays: 5:00–7:00 p.m.
• Thursdays: 5:00–7:00 p.m.

🏀 Student Athletes Only: To avoid distractions, open gym is for students only. Parents and siblings are welcome to wait in the parking lot or return at 7:00 p.m. for pickup.

📋 Physicals Required: Every student must have a completed physical turned in to the office and verified before participating. Students without a verified physical will not be allowed to participate.

TEQ Viking Family,

Thank you for joining us and supporting our Meet & Greet this evening! It was wonderful to see so many of our Viking families, and we are excited to begin another amazing school year together.

This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow, Thursday, August 6, is the first day of school, and we also have school on Friday, August 7. We can't wait to welcome all of our students back!

Our school day begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing everyone's bright smiles as we kick off a fantastic year of learning, kindness, and success.

If you need any support or assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. By working together in partnership, we can accomplish great things for our students, families, and the entire Viking community.

Welcome back to an exciting new school year! We are looking forward to an amazing year of learning, growth, and success with our students and families.

Please join us for our Meet and Greet tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. We will begin with a welcome assembly in the TEQ Gym, followed by time in the classrooms where you will have the opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and learn more about the upcoming school year.

Your attendance is important to us as we work together to build strong partnerships, share important information, and ensure we begin the year with open communication and shared expectations.

As a reminder, Thursday, August 6, and Friday, August 7, will both be full days of school. Please refer to the attached 2026–2027 EPS School Calendar for important dates throughout the year.

We are excited to share some wonderful news! Thanks to Española Public Schools, every TEQ Viking will receive a new backpack filled with school supplies for the upcoming school year! The backpacks were delivered today and will be distributed by each student’s classroom teacher once school begins.

We sincerely appreciate your partnership and continued support as we prepare for an amazing school year together.

Need help with registration? TEQ will be open until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, to assist families with registration. If you need any assistance or have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out—we are here to help!

We can't wait to welcome our Vikings back for another fantastic year.

🏃‍♀️🏀 TEQ Viking Family, 🏃‍♂️⛷️

School will be here before we know it! As we prepare for an exciting new school year, we also want to help our student-athletes get ready for the upcoming sports seasons.

Sports Physical Packets are now available!

You may:

Stop by the TEQ Office to pick up a packet (please call ahead, as we are in and out of the office for meetings), or
Print and complete the attached forms.

Please schedule your child's annual sports physical as soon as possible. A current sports physical is required for participation in all TEQ athletic programs, including:

🏃 Running Club
🌲 Cross Country
⛷️ Ski Club
🏀 Basketball
📣 Cheer
🏅 Track & Field

To avoid any delays in participation, please submit a copy of your child's completed sports physical to the TEQ office as soon as it is available.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this requirement and for helping ensure our student-athletes are healthy, prepared, and ready for another great year of Viking athletics!

We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer and making the most of these last few weeks of break! Ms. Lori and I are back in the office and busy preparing for an exciting new school year. We can't wait to welcome everyone back!

You're Invited to Our Meet & Greet!

📅 Wednesday, August 5, 2026
🕠 5:30–7:00 p.m.

We will begin the evening with a Welcome Back Presentation in the TEQ Gym, followed by classroom visits where you will have the opportunity to meet your child's teacher, see the classroom, and learn about the upcoming school year.

Families are encouraged to bring school supplies that evening so students can drop them off in their classrooms before the first day of school.

Please mark your calendars and join us as we kick off another fantastic year at TEQ–Sombrillo. We are excited to see all of our amazing students and families and look forward to another year of learning, growth, and success together!
