Bob Balch, lead guitar player for the world famous rock group Fu Manchu is now accepting students in the Escondido, San Marcos, and Vista area. His family knew he harbored a large amount of talent due to the fact that he could pick out songs and jingles from the television by ear. Following this discovery he was immediately enrolled in the studious guitar program. At the age of 18, after studying
jazz, ragtime, rock, blues and classical with dozens of teachers, it became abundantly clear that Bob had a passion for teaching also. He spent the next year and a half accumulating a roster of over 50 students in Orange County's premiere music school Corner Stone Music World. It was there that he began writing and performing with the well known rock group Fu Manchu. For the next eleven years he would tour constantly. His yearly routine was 2-3 month long tours in Europe, 3-4 month long tours in the United States, 1 week in Japan, w weeks in Australia and 1 week in New Zealand. By the age of 21 Bob had already graced stages in the following countries:
England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Luxemburg, Holland, Switzerland, Spain, France, Belgium, Austria, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and over sixty cities in the United States. Throughout an eleven year touring process Bob's band Fu Manchu has released 7 albums on major labels and shared stages with Green Day, NOFX, Queens of the Stone Age, Chevelle, The Donnas, Iggy Pop, Clutch, C.O.C., Anthrax, Motorhead, Sevendust, P.O.D., The Deftones, Valient Thorr, Supersuckers, Zeke, Beastie Boys, Portishead, Bad Religion, MC5, Soulfly, CKY, Type O Negative, Monster Magnet, Good Charlotte, HIM, Fireball Ministry, The Bronx, Turbonegro, Mastodon, System of a Down, and many more.
