The April 18, 2026, Bay de Noc Gardening Conference brochure is ready!
If you have attended the conference within the past three years, you will receive a mailed brochure--USPS willing. Even if you have attended, you can register now by printing out and mailing the registration portion of the attached brochure.
Invite a friend to share in the anticipation of the gardening season after a long, cold winter.

The 2026 Bay de Noc Gardening Conference is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at Bay College in Escanaba. If you have attended the conference in the past three years, you should receive a registration brochure in the mail in mid-March (depending on the whims of the postal service). If you don't receive a brochure, we will post registration information on this page, and you can print a registration form.

The brochures for the April 26, 2025, Bay de Noc Gardening Conference have started to arrive. If you attended the conference within the last three years, you are on our mailing list. If you didn't, or if you want to share the brochure with a friend or organization, you can print it from the attachment. The USPS is humorless about addresses, so if we don't have your address exactly as they require it, the brochure may not be deliverable. In that case, download it here or email us at [email protected], and we will email it to you.

Open your calendar to April and reserve the 26th for the annual Bay de Noc Gardening Conference at Bay College in Escanaba. We will have sessions on tree pests, roses, drought tolerant perennials, and much more. Bill Van Kosky will present a class on hardy perennial geraniums. If you have ever seen Bill's garden, you know that he knows a thing or two about flourishing plants.

Gardeners, mark your 2024 calendars: The 2024 Bay de Noc Gardening Conference is slated for Saturday, April 27, at Bay College in Escanaba. The planning committee is already working with presenters to schedule a range of gardening sessions, from growing miniature conifers to cooking fresh from the garden. We try to have offerings for gardeners with different interests and skill levels. The registration brochure will be out in early March. If you have previously attended the conference, you will receive a brochure in the mail. If not, we will have the form available on this page.

Tickets for the garden walk are now at Gust Asp, Pam's Petals, and Wickert Floral in Escanaba, and at Frame Farm in Gladstone. Not to worry if you can't get an advance ticket: they will be available at the Serenity Garden at OSF Hospital and at each garden the day of the tour--Sunday, July 23, from 1 until 4 p.m. One garden is in the Danforth area, and the rest are on the south side of Escanaba. We are looking forward to a beautiful day in beautiful gardens.

The people who organize the spring gardening conference are now working on our summer garden walk. "Gardens in Bloom" is scheduled for Sunday, July 23 (rain or shine), from 1 until 4 p.m. We have seven beautiful and varied private gardens, as well as some public sites. Beginning this Saturday, tickets will be available at Gust Asp, Pam's Petals, and Wickert Floral in Escanaba, and Frame Farm in Gladstone. The day of the walk, tickets will be offered at the Serenity Garden at OSF Hospital. We will also have a table offering free MSU-Extension Smart Gardening information at the Serenity Garden. Cost for the garden walk is $10. Proceeds benefit horticultural educational and beautification projects in Delta County.

Thanks to our presenters, our attendees, and the helpful staff at Bay College, we just concluded another successful gardening conference. Chef Robin Holmes, Poppy Hatinger, and Chris Williams were three of the twelve presenters who shared their expertise and their enthusiasm. We had sixteen different sessions--something for everyone. Next year's conference is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 27, at Bay College.
