Through its generous 2% grant awards, the Sault Tribe has been supporting Esky's Indian Ed for a long time. (And other schools' Indian Ed programs as well!)
We just received another 2% award, and this is very much appreciated. Thank you also to the Unit IV Tribal Board Directors Kimberly Hampton (Secretary) & Larry Barbeau.

Did you know the Native American Festival in St. Ignace is one of Michigan's most meaningful cultural celebrations? Join us on Saturday, May 24, at the Museum of Ojibwa Culture for a full day of traditional drumming, dancing, storytelling, workshops, and Native crafts. It's a free, family-friendly event that honors the rich heritage of the Anishinaabe people, right on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron.

Chi Miigwech to the Hannahville Indian Community for their years & years of support to the Esky Schools Indian Ed progrm.

We have just gratefully received a Spring 2025 grant award. The funding will be well-used to develop & enhance cultural activities & lessons for 100s of EAPS students.

Miigwech to Skip Blanc & Craig Woerpel for taking the time during their day to come & lead a Deweigan demonstration at the Upper Elementary on May 16.
Thank you also to Mr. J. Micheau for bringing the junior/senior high students over, and to Roy Sebeck & Kody Wellman for setting up the Drum Circle itself~

Chi Miigwech to **AquaTerra Manager, Amanda Hess!** This amazing facility is right near the Hannahville Indian Community school. Amanda warmly welcomed a 9th Grade Science class (& Teacher L. Camling & Indian Ed) this past Monday.
AquaTerra uses aquaponic and hydroponic methods to sustainably grow healthy, organic produce and beautiful flowers. A very circular agriculture system. Great place to learn about science, culture, and healthy life. Mino Bimaadiziwin~

The Esky Indian Ed Youth Drum Circle will be presenting a demonstration to the Upper El 5th & 3rd graders, this Friday, May 16, from 11 to 11:30.
(Sadly, the 4th graders cannot make it as that is their lunchtime.)
