A lot of guys get out of the military saying the same thing:
"I'm gonna be my own boss. I'll never work for anyone again."
Cool. Doing what?
"…I don't know."
That's the problem. A mindset isn't a skill set. You need something real to offer—something that transfers.
Johnny figured that out when he stumbled into line work. He started researching it, saw the career path, then saw the benefits package… and that sealed it.
The trades aren't a backup plan. For a lot of people, they're the smartest move on the table.
If you've got the drive but no direction yet—get a skill that pays. The rest follows with time.

Here's something most people learn way too late:
When you sprint down a path, you miss the things growing right next to you.
You're so locked on the finish line that you blow past the people, the lessons, and the opportunities that were sitting right there.
Have goals. Chase them. But don't run so hard you miss your own life.
And remember this one: what you put into people, you get back. Maybe not today. Maybe not this year. But it comes back.
Slow down enough to notice it.

In this episode, he gets into:
🪖 Why he joined the Marines on a snap decision (the recruiter was literally driving behind him when he called)
🦺 What it's like to go from running things in the military to being a step-one apprentice at 28, standing next to guys with 40 years in
💸 Why he sold a business that could've made millions

Yesterday was a beautiful day for some roundabout practice!
A small habit that quietly separates people who grow from people who stall.
When someone teaches you something you think you already know, stay quiet. Let them finish.
The detail you're missing tends to land at the end. Talk over it because you "already know," and you miss the one thing that would've made you better.
