Last Days at the Former Evergreen School in Menominee:

All of our classrooms end with a fun family event where children get to enjoy an ice cream treat with their special grown-ups to celebrate. This one was extra bitter sweet because June 10th was the final day of Head Start and Early Head Start services in the Evergreen School building, a place we have made our home since 1992! Just like the hit Boys II Men song that year, it was the End of the Road for our programs there as we partner next year with the Menominee County ISD, in the former Central School.

The U.S. population has grown by 92 million people since we moved into this now 125-year-old former elementary school, during President George H.W. Bush’s last year in office. Back then, a gallon of gas was $1.13 and the average new car cost just under $17,000. A dozen eggs would set you back 93 cents!

We are forever grateful to our friends at the Menominee Area Public Schools, who have allowed us to use this space for over 3+ decades. We are also so thankful to all the incredible staff who have worked closely with hundreds of parents and children in this building and all the way back to our Head Start beginning in 1965! We have been working hard at moving and are excited for our Menominee classrooms next adventure!

As our school year starts to come to end for our preschoolers, we wanted to thank all of our families who shared their kiddos with us this year.
