What has the MDS CAA Early Childhood Program been up to:

The Upper Peninsula welcomed Mr. Ty, aka The Childcare Whisperer, for an incredible professional development opportunity!

Mr. Ty is well known for his engaging videos and ability to connect with the here and now of early childhood education. His energy, humor, and passion made for an amazing evening of learning and connection!

Check out this amazing group of early childhood professionals who took time out of their busy lives to continue strengthening the skills, knowledge, and practices they bring back to their roles within our program and the children and families we serve.

In August (when the chaos of back to school was high 😅) Melissa reached 10 years with the program! 👏

Melissa is a data entry assistant… data entry assistant, what’s that? Well, Head Start has quite a few health requirements we need to keep track of for every child: well child checks, immunizations, health care plans, dental exams, etc. Melissa keeps us ALL on track of that ✅ She plays a vital role in our program & in our children's overall health- how incredible is that?!

Her favorite part of her role is getting to interact with different staff members as well as the children since she is stationed at one of our centers. The best of both worlds!

When Melissa is not at work, she's enjoying time with her family, being a foster parent, spending time outside and decorating around the house. Melissa's caring personality shines through in every aspect of her life & we are so lucky her path has lead her here with us! Happy 10 years at Head Start, Melissa! ❤️🤍💙
