Some of you know that i'm getting rid of much of my science materials. Quite a few has ended up in the trash. I list things going out on my page.
Holding back because i hope to still do special classes - microscopy stuff, vanDegraf generator, water rocket materials, launcher. Currently a nice collection of rocks, minerals, fossils, sand from around the world is awaiting a place to go.

For the last two years I have offered Science demonstrations in classrooms locally. Largely in upper elementary grades. These have been single day events coordinated with teacher's curriculum. While they have been well received by teachers and students, schools and teachers have had some difficulty scheduling and paying for them. This year I am going to approach several funding sources so that I can offer these lessons free of charge. In addition to public sources; if any friends or acquaintances would like to pledge to pay for a program at a local elementary school I would set up a program with a teacher and then turn to you for support to make it happen. My normal charge has been $70 for a program and the presentations include several lessons in microscopy in particular cell identification, pond life (I use a digital microscope and project student made slides), static electricity including a van deGraf generator, water rockets constructed from recycled materials, and others.
If you would be willing and able to support one or more of these presentations contact me. And if you have ideas of funding sources (I am currently going to apply to town as well as state cultural councils) please send my your ideas.
Elementary schools have limited equipment and expertise with conducting many of these activities and my efforts and experience have been welcomed whenever I have been able to conduct these hands on experiences.

As some of you know i've been out of commission since early December. I can now get the Van deGraff generator down for some shocking demonstrations, start assembling water rockets for Spring, help your students learn about density and gases and numerous other fun activities. Schedule me in.
