🎃 The Raiders had a farm-tastic day at Port Farms!

Our Kindergarteners enjoyed a hayride, explored the farm, played, climbed, made their way through the corn maze, and even tried digging for the first time this year!

Our 3-year-old and Pre-K friends were busy making memories with their parents and grandparents, too!

A big thank you to all of our family chaperones who joined us and helped make the day so much fun! 🍁

✨ Happy Feast of the Archangels! ✨

Today we celebrate St. Michael, St. Gabriel, and St. Raphael—three archangels who remind us to live with courage, faith, and a heart for serving others. ❤️‍🔥

As students, we can look to them as examples of how to live out our faith every day:

🛡️ Be like St. Michael: Be brave, stand up for what is right, and never be afraid to do the right thing.
📣 Be like St. Gabriel: Share God’s message through your words, your actions, and the way you treat others.
💚 Be like St. Raphael: Look for ways to help, care for others, and be a friend to someone who may need one.

At St. Jude, being a good student is about more than what happens in the classroom. It’s about how we treat others, how we serve our community, and how we live our faith each day.

May St. Michael, St. Gabriel, and St. Raphael guide our Raiders to live with faith, courage, kindness, and hope! ❤️‍🔥

Last week, we celebrated Father Mike in honor of Priesthood Sunday!

Our students made cards to celebrate and thank Father Mike for all that he does for our school and our students. From celebrating Mass and guiding us in our faith to offering encouragement, kindness, and support, we are so blessed to have him as part of our school family.

Thank you, Father Mike, for your faithful service, your prayers, and for being such a wonderful example of Christ’s love to our students. We appreciate you more than words can say! ❤️

Fall Sports Updates from our Athletics Board! 🎉

Below you will find information for Week #4 of Fall Sports:

🏀 Girls Basketball 🏀
The Lady Raiders played their first Erie Catholic matchup against OLP on Monday. The team suffered a tough four-point loss after battling back from a 16-point deficit and cutting the lead to just two points. OLP ultimately prevailed, but the Raiders showed tremendous fight and determination throughout the game. Vera Vendetti led the way with a season-high 22 points, while Lilly LeCorchick added nine. Lauren Rinn and Ava Kurzweg played outstanding defense against two of the best players in the league. During the game, the Raiders also suffered a tough loss when 8th grader Isabelle Bober went down with a knee injury. We wish Isabelle a speedy recovery! The Raiders will get another chance against OLP on Monday.

On Tuesday, the Raiders bounced back with a 10-point victory over Strong Vincent. Vera Vendetti once again led the team with 18 points, while Lilly LeCorchick added 12. Lauren Rinn and Ava Kurzweg came up big on the defensive end once again. Sofia Skelton saw some minutes and came up big with some impressive rebounds!

Next week, the team will play eight games, including a tournament at MPS. Let’s go, Raiders!

🏃‍♀️ Cross Country 🏃‍♀️
Coach Julie and Coach Dave continue to guide our runners through the challenging conditions at Frontier Park. Last week’s scrimmage was once again canceled due to the damage at Frontier, but the team has continued to work hard at practice.

The Raiders are hoping to finally get their first Erie Catholic scrimmage in on Thursday! Good luck to all of our runners!

🎾 Tennis 🎾
Coach Grab is doing a great job organizing Erie Catholic practices and creating opportunities for our players to compete. The team had its first scrimmage on Friday against Fairview, and Coach Grab was very proud of the team—especially the younger players who competed extremely well.

Coach Grab said, “The best part was watching these kids stay on the court and beg to keep playing. Love the enthusiasm!”

The team will have more opportunities for match play this week against Millcreek and Erie Day School.

Keep up the great work, Raiders!

🏈 Football 🏈
From the desk of Andrew Huzar, Football Coordinator:

Today saw both our JV and Varsity Knights take on the East End Crusaders, and both teams came away with wins!
• Varsity: Knights 56 – Crusaders 6
• JV: Knights 48 – Crusaders 0

Game highlights:
SJU Varsity: Giovani Cordavano – 1 fumble recovery

While the scores are exciting, one of the things I was most proud of today was the sportsmanship displayed by both teams. Despite building big leads early, our players remained respectful of their opponents and handled themselves exceptionally well throughout both games.

They were fantastic representatives of the Knights football program, their individual schools, and Erie Catholic.

Next Sunday, all three Knights teams will travel to face the St. Louise de Marillac Trojans."

🔎📚 Noun Search in Second Grade!

Today, Mrs. Conti’s second graders put their grammar skills to work with a noun search around the classroom!

They searched high and low, identifying the people, places, and things they could find. Learning is always more fun when you can get up, explore, and put it into practice! 📝
