Now Charis E. Kubrin (University of California, Irvine , 🇺🇲) and Mark W. Lipsey (Vanderbilt University , 🇺🇲) has received the 2026 Stockholm Prize in Criminology, as presented by H.M. Queen Silvia of 🇸🇪. Congratulations!

Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society, held their annual induction ceremony last evening at the Erie Yacht Club. Graduating seniors received their honor cords and new members received their certificates of membership. Dr. Peter Benekos, professor emeritus, was in attendance at this lovely event. I am very proud of my students who were in my SCI Albion Issues in Criminal Justice courses. While I’m in Ireland, they presented at the Nonviolence and Racial Justice in Erie Conference at Mercyhurst University on their experiences in my prison courses. They are truly ambassadors of higher education in prison programs. 😊These are some of my favorite moments in teaching. 😊
