Our 5th Grade Captains got to spend the day at the 3rd Annual Community Schools Leadership Retreat earlier this week, hosted by the United Way of Erie County and the Community School Directors at all 17 community schools across the county!
We spent the day learning from community leaders and playing a series of team building games alongside 250 student leaders! McKinley's Captains is one of the largest groups of leaders from any of the schools!
We are so proud of our 5th Graders for all the work they have done to set a great example of what it means to be here, safe, and kind everyday. This is just the start of their leadership journey for our Captains as they get ready to head off to middle school soon!
We know you're already great, so go be even greater! ⚓

Third Grade's community partner is the Hagen History Center! We had an in school visit with Mr. Adam who showed us some cool artifacts and then we got to explore the history center last week, which connected directly to our curriculum this year!
We really had a great time learning about Erie's history! Thanks for having us!
