We are so glad that we got to host the Collaborative for Advancing Healthy Experiences in Out of School Time (CAHE-OST) through the Education Development Center for our conference this July!

Happy Wellness Wednesday! Just because it's summer break doesn't mean we are stopping to learn about wellness! We hosted a School Leaders' Regional Wellness Conference for all Erie County Administrators. We are on our way to being the healthiest county in PA! Check it out here!

Erie’s Public Schools Sharing School Wellness Success With Districts Across the Region Erie’s Public Schools are being recognized statewide for significant improvements in student wellness, serving as a model district under a Pennsylvania Department of Health grant funded by the CDC, showcasing effective strategies in nutrition, physical activity, and emotional well-being.

The end of the year brought so many opportunities for nutrition education and farm fresh fruits and vegetables! Healthy breakfasts, high protein snacks, and fiber filled tastings, oh my! Thanks to Pfeiffer-Burleigh Elementary, Strong Vincent Middle School, Edison Elementary School, and JoAnna Connell - A Community School for having us!

Grover Cleveland Elementary, A Community School stays promoting wellness for their students and families!

We love to see physical activity in Out-of-School Time activities!

It's TASTY TUESDAY! Last month, the fourth grade students at Lincoln Elementary School took a cooking class with our nutrition interns from Gannon University ! Students made their own pasta salad with tons of colorful veggies and made their own salad dressing. Cooking is a cool science experiment; students were able to see how an emulsifier (dijon mustard) helped oil and water to mix. Who will be the next lucky class to work with our A Team? Stay tuned... it will be announced tomorrow!

May is Mental Health Awareness, but Lincoln Elementary School celebrates mental wellness all year long! Thanks to support from Principal Huffman and their School Wellness Team leaders, Lincoln has been able to offer a variety of opportunities for both students and teachers: cuddling and learning about rabbits, a trip to the Otters game to add some joy to a long winter, and staff socioemotional learning bingo.
