I was blown away today by GVS freshman, Sanjay Prince, who put together his own voice and piano recital and performed at the home of his wonderful piano teacher, Susan Olenwine in Boulder (look at that view, and that piano - a SIGNED Steinway!). Sanjay works so hard and is such a talented musician. His piano playing was stellar, and I was so proud of how hard he worked on his songs this summer. Thanks to Noah and Robyn Levey, another GVS family, for coming, along with 50 other supporters. Congratulations, Sanjay!

Congratulations to GVS Alums, Mikaela Schindler, Kobe Schindler, and Ryleigh Smith, and the entire cast and crew (including the Schindler clan behind the scenes) of Synthesis Theater’s Ride the Cyclone. Mikaela- your vision and direction (in only 3 weeks!), and stellar performance as Jane Doe was so special to experience. One more show tomorrow at the Dairy Center in Boulder! Congratulations to GVS Alum, Angie Torres, who recently graduated from CU Boulder in musical theater and earned her first professional gig with Disney cruise lines! She sets sail later this month. I am so very proud of you, Angie. The passion and talent I witnessed for years in the studio has come to fruition!

NATS day two was full of great sessions, poster papers, and reunions. The day started with an excellent plenary by my business coach and founder of The Speakeasy Cooperative (business community for the arts), Michelle Markwart Deveaux. It ended with an incredible concert by husband and wife Broadway stars, Caroline Bowman (Elphaba and Esla national tours) and Austin Colby (The Great Gatsby). What a power duo! Another inspirational day.🎉👏

NATS convention 2026 day 1: I had the privilege and joy of adjudicating the national semifinalists for the Commercial Music Lower college treble category- wowza…insane talent. And more fun reunions, including one with my old friend from grad school over 30 years ago (shhhh!), David Adams. I also had the privilege of mentoring another voice teacher/new friend, Camille. My colleagues from CO/WY NATS have an incredible poster paper on Mindfulness in the voice studio- great job, Logan and Mandy - I’m honored to know you. Off to the NSA Finals to hear more incredible singing!

Congratulations to new GVS Student, Greta Ellerhorst, and her performance as Lavender in Candlelight theater’s production of Matilda. What an outstanding show - the kids were incredible! A big thanks also to my wonderful son, Jaden, and his fiancee, Bailey, for taking us for my birthday. I am one lucky mom.

Yay, Greta!

Yay, Greta!

GRETA ELLERHORST (Lavender 💙) Greta is excited to be making her Candlelight debut in this quirky, fun role! She has previously played Young Anna in Frozen at the Arvada Center, and various school and children’s theatre roles at Arts Hub and Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids. Greta will be starting 6th grade this fall. She’s hopeful her teachers at her new school are more Miss Honey and less Miss Trunchbull. When she’s not performing, Greta loves dancing, singing, biking, skiing, and spending time with her friends. She’s grateful for this opportunity to perform at Candlelight alongside such talented peers and to her parents and siblings for supporting her.

*In Matilda, the kids sing When I Grow Up and dream about when they are bigger. What do you want to be/do when you grow up?*

"When I grow up, I hope to be a teacher so I can inspire people or a flight attendant and travel the world. I look forward to getting my own phone and being able to reach the cupboards without a stool."

You will leave with practical tools and strategies you can use immediately. Free to current GVS members. Message Dr. Gilmore for fee information if you are not a current student and you wish to attend.
