Congratulations to this team effort!
š Congratulations to our very own Dr. Lynne Beaty and student co-author Holden Cooper!
Their paper, āIlluminating the Early Life of Salamanders: Exploring Biofluorescence During Development,ā has been awarded Best Paper in Herpetology by the international journal Ichthyology & Herpetology.
The award-winning research reveals how biofluorescence may help salamander eggs, embryos, and larvae camouflage themselves from predators during vulnerable early stages of development.

The School of Science was invited to the Edinboro Elementary School Science Fair (March 26, 2026) and presented activities showcasing the science behind weather during a tornado watch. The stations taught students how weather is applied chemistry and physics principles as well as how engineering keeps us safe from severe conditions.
Everyone was safe and had a great time!!
