It's been a while since I've posted, but as we approach the beginning of a new school year, especially with all the uncertainty students are trying to navigate, I couldn't suggest more the value of and comfort provided to your students by creating a consistent time to read to or with them. Young children pk-3rd grade (or younger) love to cuddle up and be read to and really enjoy sharing their curiosities about each picture with you, while older students, grades 4-6, appreciate the 1:1 time with family taking turns reading pages and talking about their favorite parts of the story!
Students can even read to their pets or younger siblings. What's most important is the predictability and comfort of reintroducing some regular school routine and fun time with books! On-line book sources are easily accessible these days and can also provide consistent reading engagement. Whatever your student's preference, take the time to talk with them about their reading and watch their excitement grow! 😊🍎📘
