We are proud of our Gannon University alumnus Bishop Edward M. Lohse '84, Bishop of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Steubenville, Ohio, who was appointed by Pope Leo XIV among seven new members of the Apostolic Signatura, the Catholic Church’s highest court. A native of Erie County, Bishop Lohse served the Diocese of Erie as Vocation Director, Chancellor and Vicar General, and also served on the Gannon Board of Trustees. He will continue his ministry in Steubenville and Kalamazoo as he takes on this new responsibility to the universal Church. We are proud of your humble and generous service to Christ's Church and assure you of our prayers!

Thank you to our Villa Maria College alumnae and friends who were able to join us on campus yesterday in the beautiful and historic Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel. We enjoyed hosting a very special Mass and luncheon.

We invite everyone to enjoy our downtown campus, arrange to visit the Sisters of Saint Joseph Legacy Room in the Alumni House, attend Mass during the academic year, or plan to join us for Homecoming and Family Weekend, September 24 - 27, 2026!

Join us in praying with the Holy Father for his prayer intention for the month of June: For the Value of Sports

Let us pray that sports be an instrument of peace, encounter, and dialogue among cultures and nations, and that they promote values such as respect, solidarity, and personal growth.

The candle in the Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel Sanctuary Lamp burns 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. While school is in session, the candle in the Sanctuary Lamp at the Catholic House also burns 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The candles can be sponsored on a weekly basis on behalf of a family member, friend, or loved one. The sanctuary lamp candle is generally requested in memory of someone (deceased) or in honor of someone (living) for one week (Monday-Sunday). To sponsor the sanctuary lamp, complete the following form: https://www.givecampus.com/schools/GannonUniversity/sanctuary-lamp

We pray for the soul of Fr. Joe Gregorek who passed away 3 years ago today. A grateful Gannon University remembers.

Before the caps and gowns, the Gannon University community came together to celebrate the Baccalaureate Mass — offering prayers of gratitude and praise for the journey that brought our graduates to this moment. We were honored to have Bishop Persico preside as we asked God's blessing on all that lies ahead for our graduates.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 — may your next chapter be filled with faith, purpose and joy!
