Nick Papalia, a lecturer in mathematics at , hosted a drop-in tutoring session for students who are preparing for summer finals. As an incentive, he baked 24 custom, gourmet pizzas, feeding everyone who attended.

Tonight’s FREE Smith Carillon Concert features Michael Gancz of Stanford University.

The performance begins at 7 p.m. on the lawn of the Larry and Kathryn Smith Chapel. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the music from the grass.

Free and open to the public.

While we are not wishing summer away, this little red leaf spotted outside the Metzgar Center has us looking forward to fall at Behrend. With the season’s most beautiful colors just around the corner and students returning in less than two weeks, we’re counting down to the energy and excitement of a new semester. We can’t wait!

The wrestling team will compete in the State University of New York Athletic Conference this year. The college’s swimming and diving and track and field teams also are SUNYAC members.

A paper co-authored by Lynne Beaty, associate professor of biology at , and Holden Cooper, a 2024 graduate, has been selected as “Best Paper in Herpetology” by the international journal Ichthyology & Herpetology. With colleagues at St. Cloud State University, they studied biofluorescence in salamander eggs and in the bellies of larval salamanders. The fluorescence may help camouflage salamanders when they are vulnerable to predators.
