Meadowlark PTSA Welcome to the Meadowlark PK-8 PTSA community! Our goal is to enhance the educational experiences of the entire student body. We would love to hear from you.

We aim to build bridges between staff and families and raise funds to support connection and education within the community. At Meadowlark we inspire our students to pursue their passions and develop 21st century skills including communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity to solve authentic, real-world problems and to make positive, meaningful contributions in our global community. As Meadowlark PTSA we will uphold and execute our school's vision. PTA's mission is Every Child, One Voice and that holds true at Meadowlark as well. Our children are 100% our future and every child has the potential to do great things. As advocates, we volunteer along side of our teachers to make every child's potential become a reality. It is not about bake sales, it is about our engagement in learning. If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas for Meadowlark or advocacy send us an email or attend our meetings. Everyone is welcome at our general meetings. Typically four meetings per school year. We would encourage you to attend our meetings to learn & listen. Find out if we are the right fit for you.

Some of our 5–6 students absolutely understood the assignment for today’s spirit day! 😂👏

We LOVE a good spirit day at Meadowlark, especially when it can be silly, creative, and low effort for families. Grab something you already own, have a little fun with it, and you’re ready to go!

And our spirit day philosophy is simple: join in if you can, and if you forgot, missed it, or just weren’t feeling it? No biggie. 💛

Spirit days are about adding a little extra joy to the school day, not adding another thing to anyone’s to-do list.

And judging by these 5–6 Mavericks… mission accomplished. 😂💧

Flying color, HUGE smiles, and Mavericks making memories! These awesome action shots capture the joy of our Meadowlark Color Run and a community that knows how to show up, cheer each other on, and have a whole lot of FUN! 💛

27 artists, a whole lot of creativity, and some seriously purr-sonal Halloween flair! 🐈‍⬛🎃🎨

Last night’s Art Night, hosted by our wonderful art teachers Mrs. Maddox and Mrs. Hampton, was full of whimsical Halloween cats, each with a personality all its own! Our artists did an amazing job adding creative touches and making their paintings uniquely theirs.

The best part? Seeing how proud everyone was of their work and excited to head home and display their new holiday decor! 😊

Thank you, Mrs. Maddox and Mrs. Hampton, for sharing your creativity and helping our artists bring their ideas to life! And thank you to everyone who joined us for an evening of creating, connecting, and getting into the Halloween spirit. 🧡

🏐🍩 An awesome season deserves a sweet ending!

Today, our TWO girls volleyball teams wrapped up their season with a donut party, and Coach Bush and Coach Hampton couldn’t be prouder of this incredible group! 💛

Watching these girls bond, grow in confidence, and cheer each other on was the best part of the season. They celebrated each other’s successes and showed up when someone needed them. When a teammate sprained her ankle at practice, everyone rushed to help and support her. That moment said so much about the teammates they had become. 🥹

One of our favorite traditions was ending each practice with positive shout-outs and our little chip awards: “You’re all that and a bag of chips!” A bag of chips might seem small, but getting to recognize the girls for their effort, kindness, encouragement, and teamwork made those moments special. 💛🥔

And coaching with Tiff was the MOST fun! So many laughs, so much cheering, and such a joy to share this season together.

Girls, thank you for an awesome season and for taking such good care of each other. You really ARE all that and a bag of chips! 🏐✨

The competition was fierce. The costumes were ridiculous. The running? Questionable. 😂🏁

Our Mav Dash teacher inflatable race brought BIG laughs, wild waddles, and a whole school cheering their hearts out!

🐶🥇 With Mr. Pawcini absent, Mr. Root stepped in as The Rootweiler and fetched first place!
🐔🥈 Wood You Cluck at That? Mr. Wood was hot on his tail, flapping his way to second!
☀️🥉 Mrs. Bush, the Solar Roller, rounded out the podium with a sunny third-place finish!

Really though…everyone was a winner in our book!

To every teacher who suited up, embraced the silliness, and gave our students something to cheer about: THANK YOU! Your willingness to jump into the fun is part of what makes Meadowlark so special. These are the “Remember when our teacher…?” moments our kids will carry with them. 💛

What does it mean to value each other and build a positive community? Our first graders took that question into a downtown Erie field trip to find out! 💛

As part of their project based learning, students visited CyclErie, Sweets Ice Cream , FOX•DOG COFFEE , 3 Magpies, and the Erie Community Food Bank. They met the people behind these local places and saw some of the many ways neighbors contribute to a community.

Field trips like this make learning real. Our students can ask questions, make connections, and begin to see themselves as people who can care for and strengthen the place they call home.

Thank you to every business and organization that welcomed our first graders and shared your time with them. And an extra thank you to CYCLE-ERIE and Three Magpies Toy Shop , who also support Meadowlark as community partners. You helped our Mavericks explore their driving question: “How do we as Mavericks value each other to build a positive community?” 🐴

MEADOWLARK, ARE YOU READY TO CELEBRATE?! 🌈🎉

Yesterday, this community did something absolutely extraordinary. In ONE DAY, you raised more than $19,000 to support Meadowlark students and their educational experience.

As of 5:15 this morning, our total is an unbelievable $119,395!

We didn’t just reach our stretch goal. We are SOARING past it, unlocking a SURPRISE Meadowlark 10th Birthday Bash! More details are coming, but get ready for one smashing spring birthday party. We still have a few surprises up our sleeves!

And the celebration starts TODAY with the Meadowlark Color Run! Check the schedule for all the details, then come ready to cheer, get colorful and celebrate every one of our Mavericks!

There are also just five or six huddles still working toward their classroom goals. When they reach them, each will earn a $100 Student Enrichment Grant to bring something special into their students’ learning experience. Let’s help them finish strong!

Colorado public education is estimated to be underfunded by roughly $4,000 to $4,500 per student each year. Proposition NN is on the November ballot and would allow the state to retain additional revenue above the current TABOR cap and dedicate it to K–12 public education. Please learn more about what it would mean for Colorado students and make your voice heard.

Until Colorado fully funds public education, we remain deeply grateful for communities like ours that come together to help bridge the gap.

Thank you to every student, family, friend, neighbor, coworker, teacher, and staff member who showed up for our Mavericks. This is what it looks like when a community stands together and says our students, our teachers and public education matter.

Everyone wants to know: What’s the best way to throw color? 🌈

Our 360 Leaders are showing us two ways that make a big splash while helping protect our runners’ faces and eyes:

🌈 The Rainbow Throw: Toss color in an arc over the runners.

🎨 The Low Sweep: Sweep color across their bodies, below shoulder height.

Please never throw color at a face or dump it on top of someone’s head!

A packet can give you a few little poofs from a torn corner or one to two big sweeps. Have fun with it!

🎨 Mav Dash Color Run tips for families!

Send your kiddos in play clothes and shoes that can get colorful. Black and white both look great covered in color powder, but any play clothes will do!

Students are welcome to bring sunglasses or goggles and a buff to help protect their eyes and face. Teachers will also have masks available for students who would like one.

Afternoon schedule:

* 1:30 p.m. Color packets go on sale for families
* 2:15 p.m. Students begin taking the field
* 2:40 p.m. Opening remarks
* 3:45 p.m. Students are dismissed from their huddle teachers

We can’t wait to cheer on our Mavs tomorrow! It’s going to be so much fun! 🌈
