Erie High School’s vast campus sits on 61 acres of land with beautiful vistas of the front range. It is the ultimate destination for the Erie High School Feeder System. Students attending Black Rock Elementary, Erie Elementary, Red Hawk Elementary and Erie Middle School begin their ninth grade year at Erie High School. Erie’s High School campus’ athletics area features a spacious gym space, a wres
tling room, PE & sports locker rooms and adequate changing facilities for officials and staff members. Erie has numerous titles in their athletic history including their legendary 4A State Champion Softball team. Football, Cross-country, Volleyball, Golf, Basketball, Wrestling, Baseball, Track and Cheerleading teams all compete at Erie High’s beautiful facilities which include Erie Tiger Stadium and well-maintained diamonds. Erie has room to grow with practice fields and room for a future soccer field. Erie’s Technology Wing features classes in the Applied and Fine Arts. Business classes are taught in the state-of-the-art PC lab. 2D and 3D Art classes are taught in Erie’s two Art rooms. Erie has an all iMac digital photography lab and MultiMedia lab where students bring their imaginations to life in virtual space. The Technology Lab houses Erie’s Applied Technology classes and is also available for teachers to check out to bring their whole class for a lab experience. Erie’s Foods room is well-equipped and ready to serve. The two-story Classroom Wing is where much of the learning happens at Erie. EHS offers many AP classes in history, mathematics, English, art and sciences. Large science laboratories and well-adorned regular classrooms make for a perfect learning experience while bringing students together for studying and housing their lockers, too. Erie’s MESA science club, Odyssey of the Mind, and Get Out And Learn Something (GOALS) group, Newspaper and Yearbook staffs all meet in this space after school providing everyone with ample opportunity to excel academically outside of the classroom. Each of the wings at EHS have common staff workspace for the instructors in that area to design their curriculum and produce materials that are used in their classes. Erie’s modern computer controlled door access system, fire detection and suppression and security systems ensure a safe and secure environment for students to learn. Erie has two campus supervisors whose job includes knowing what students are doing in the various areas on Erie’s vast campus. Erie’s Performance Wing features space for our choirs, bands, and drama performances. At its center is the school’s beautiful 600-seat auditorium. Equipped with state-of-the-art light and sound system, this venue is home to many local performances including Sunday services of the Calvary Bible Church. This is where the school’s Improv Club, CR5 – Erie’s vocal performance group and Jazz Combo meet to perfect their craft. Erie’s kitchen staff knows that learning begins with well-fed students. It’s ample facilities produce food enjoyed by students in it’s spacious commons. This space is also used by outside groups for meetings and dances. It’s equipped with an integrated sound system which provides clear amplification for a variety of events. At the center of EHS is its round Administrative Wing. The second story of this wing houses Erie’s spacious Library Media Center. Books and research are plentiful in this area. The library houses a 30-computer tiered Writing Laboratory for whole classes of students to use when checked out by the instructor. Beautiful views are a highlight of study time in Erie’s library. Homework Club meets in the library two days a week and is available to all students. Licensed teachers are available to help voluntary attendees and those required to visit by their teachers to make up missing homework assignments. Beneath the library is Erie’s administrative center. The administrators, Athletic Director, counselors, registrar, attendance clerk and school resource officer all work in this busy space. The office conference room is where committees meet, RtI teams discuss student work with parents, and community groups come together to share ideas about kids’ education.
