Monday is your first win of the week.
You won’t always feel like training.
Some days you’ll be tired. Some days work will be stressful. Some days the couch will sound a whole lot better.
Show up anyway.
Because progress isn’t built on the days when everything feels easy. It’s built on the days when you choose to do the work anyway. One Monday at a time.

Get comfortable being uncomfortable.
When Rachel started using CrossFit to prepare for her HYROX race this fall, she was stepping into something new, and that’s exactly where the growth happens.
New movements. New challenges. New levels of intensity. And plenty of moments where the easiest thing would have been to stay in her comfort zone.
Instead, she’s shown up. She’s stayed consistent. She’s embraced the coaching, put in the work, and trusted the process.
And now? She’s thriving in class and building the strength, conditioning, and confidence she’ll take with her to the HYROX floor this fall.
You don’t have to be good at something before you start.
You just have to be willing to start, stay consistent, and let the results catch up.
Keep showing up, Rachel. You’re just getting started. 💪

Monday workouts hit different when you're surrounded by people who want to see you succeed.
The hardest part is walking through the door.
After that, you've got coaches to guide you and a community pulling for you every step of the way.
You don't have to do this alone.
See you in class!

The best investment you'll make this week isn't in the stock market.
It's in your health.
One hour of training gives you more energy, more confidence, a clearer mind, and a stronger body to tackle everything else life throws your way.
The return on that investment compounds every single week.

If you've spent any amount of time around CCFE over the last couple of years, you've probably crossed paths with Tim. A familiar face in the evenings and weekends for more than two and a half years, Tim came to us with some previous CrossFit experience, but what has stood out most isn't where he started, it's the way he's approached every day since. He's a highly coachable athlete, always eager to learn, quick to apply feedback, and never afraid to tackle a weakness head-on. Pair that with the fact that he's genuinely kind to everyone he trains alongside, and it's easy to see why he's become such a valued part of our community.
Lately, Tim has taken things to another level. His consistency in the gym has been outstanding, and over the past few months he's paired that with a serious commitment to his nutrition. The result has been a tremendous change in composition, noticeable improvements in performance, and some huge milestones, including turning pull-ups into one of his biggest strengths. Tim is proof that long-term progress isn't about chasing shortcuts, it's about showing up, trusting the process, and being willing to learn. We couldn't think of a more deserving Athlete of the Month.
WHAT DO YOU DO OUTSIDE OF CROSSFIT?
I create family-forming/fertility care programs for employers. I really love it, and providing equitable care for those faced with infertility/social obstacles is extremely gratifying.
I’m absolutely obsessed with roller coasters. When I was little, I had VHS tape of “Great American Scream Machines” that I wore out. I spent hours and hours on Roller Coaster Tycoon, dreaming that I’d be a roller coaster designer. Physics squashed that dream (and my confidence), but I’ve picked up the title of “roller coaster enthusiast.” I’ve been on 210 different rollercoasters throughout the country (not including re-rides). Tyler (my husband) has also been subjected to all 210 coasters. I’m an encyclopedia of coaster stats, so feel free to quiz me.
I’m also a Nintendo fanboy. I’ve had every console since Super Nintendo and still going strong.
WHAT DID YOU DO FOR FITNESS BEFORE CFE?
Most of my fitness in my earlier days came from swimming. I started swimming competitively in the 3rd grade and didn’t stop until after college. I specialized in the 200, 500, 1000, and 1650-yard freestyle. I think that’s why I love long metcon days. I still love swimming, but I needed a switch. I spent a good couple of years in spin classes in Boston, but wanted to focus on strength building, which led me to CrossFit.
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE CFE?
We moved to Nottingham a few years ago, and I knew I wanted to focus more on strength. I work from home, so having a community to go to at the end of the day was also important. CFE is close by, has a large community, and some good vibes, so it was an easy choice. The rest is history!
ANY ADVICE FOR SOMEONE HESITANT TO TRY CROSSFIT?
Give yourself a lot of patience. Outside of the occasional “dryland” workouts I did during swimming, I had no experience in strength training. The general CrossFit/lifting gym environment has always given me pause. However, I just decided to jump in headfirst. I’ve never been so sore in my life after the first few weeks. I’d suggest 2-3 days a week to start and just give yourself grace as you learn what seem like impossible movements. Time will fly by, and it’ll just start to click.
PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENTS?
I’d say getting both kipping pull-ups and chest to bar. I never thought pull-ups would be something I’d excel at, but there was a recent workout with an abundance of them. I felt confident all throughout the workout, and Teddy stopped me mid-way, saying, “You know you’re doing chest to bars, right?” Never thought that’d be my strength.
Also very proud of committing to the food lab over the last ~3 months. Sticking to a healthy diet has always been a challenge, but this has been the first routine that’s worked for me. I didn’t think it was possible to eat that much protein, but after that hurdle, I started to have a lot more energy in workouts.
GREATEST CHALLENGES?
Deadlifts. If it’s in the workout, you can catch me in the back.
GOALS MOVING FORWARD?
I’m trying to keep my gym routine consistent now that I’ve fallen into a groove. I feel healthier and just have more energy overall. Hoping to keep these healthy habits going long term.
Speaking of family forming, we’re hoping to grow our family in the coming years, so we’ve been looking at some paths forward there.
In the meantime, we want to continue our travels outside the country. Next stop is Japan!
FAVORITE MOVEMENTS?
Pull-ups, Bench press, Wall balls (sue me), and rope climbs
IF YOU COULD ONLY EAT ONE THING FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE?
W***y Mae’s Fried Chicken in New Orleans. Perfection.
FAVORITE MOVIE?
Can’t choose one, so my go-to three are Kill Bill (The Whole Bloody Affair), Spirited Away, and Evil Dead (2013)
YOU'RE STUCK IN A KARAOKE BAR AND CAN'T LEAVE UNTIL YOU SING A SONG. WHAT IS IT?
Infinity Guitars – Sleigh Bells
WHAT'S A FUN FACT ABOUT YOU WE SHOULD KNOW?
When I first met Sean at my intro class, we quickly realized his mom was my 4th-grade teacher and worked with my mom as well.
Tyler and I bought a 36-foot 5th wheel and an F-350 a few years ago and towed it across the country for 2 years. (and lived to tell the tale.)
I’ve been obsessed with Survivor since season 1 and have applied the last few years to go on. Fingers crossed.
I have a twin (sister)
