The Honors Biology students are reading "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks", by Rebecca Skloot.
It tells the powerful story of a Black to***co farmer whose cancer cells were taken without her knowledge in 1951, becoming one of the most vital tools in modern medicine while her family remained unaware of her groundbreaking scientific legacy. Through a collaborative, interdisciplinary gallery walk, students analyzed primary sources, scientific data, and historical records to explore the intersection of cell biology, medical ethics, public health, and human history surrounding Henrietta Lacks's story.

A message from Mrs. Elliot:
If you are anything like me, every Christmas you buy a few boxes of holiday cards and always have a few left over. The next year, you might not want to chance sending out the same card to a person on your list, so you put the extras in a box or a drawer where they seem to multiply.
Here at Epping Middle High School, we have a great use for your leftover Christmas cards. This year we will be participating in the Holiday Cards for our Military project.

Students, staff, and visitors will all have the opportunity to participate in this extremely worthy cause and the baskets of cards will be presented to Dr. Laura Landerman-Garber at our Veterans Day celebration.
If you would like to donate unused cards for this service project, please drop them off in the main office between now and November 6th. Thank you for your support.

Our 7th grade just spent the last four days at Camp Cody in Freedom, NH. They braved the elements and focused on Courage, Curiosity, Caring, and Communication!

What a great pep rally this afternoon and a roaring bonfire this evening. The volleyball teams played their hearts out. Come out tomorrow for girls soccer at 10 am, boys soccer at 12 pm and football at 2 pm. Go Blue Devils!
